The ones they have at Walmart are $16 for the meter, and $9 for a bottle of 50 test strips. It’s a bare bones model, but it works just fine and can be way cheaper in the long run than a prescription model, even when covered by insurance, if you’ve got shitty copays. Plus you don’t have to worry about prescriptions.

We all know she spends more than $25 on fast food and/or dollar store crap on any given day. If she doesn’t have a glucometer, it’s because she doesn’t want to know just how bad it is.

Doctors get free glucose monitors and testing strips from drug companies to give away to patients. There’s no way she hasn’t been offered one.

Just about every manufacturer offers a free blood sugar meter to new patients. The starter kit usually includes lancets, lanceting device, meter and at least a small container of test strips.

You don't even need a prescription or referral, only the wherewithal to search offers.

I'm not in Oregon, but it takes a lot to get a kid removed from the home where I live. Knew friends who were the godparents of a kid. The parents turned into druggies, house was filthy, she went to school dirty, and CPS did take the kid away for a while and let them live with the godparents. Eventually, though, they met the bare minimum they needed to do and got the kid back. They didn't change, they just learned what they needed to do to get CPS off their back.

The goal is to keep families together if at all possible. And while that's noble and all, in most cases it simply means that you have to do some pretty horrific stuff before you lose custody of your kids. And most people don't really clean up their act. They just learn to hide their dysfunction better.

Oregon is also one of the states that basically allows you to deny your kids medical care for religious reasons because "we believe God heals everything". In the more rural areas of Oregon there's a lot of people who buy into the faith-healing shit (Christian Scientists and the like) and it is super common for kids to be abused and neglected because "muh religious beliefs". This book goes into the subject very well. IIRC (it's been a while since I read it) the author mentions that because of the heavy population of batshit religious weirdos, politicians get elected in that tend to represent their interests- and if their interests are "I think I should be allowed to do whatever the hell I want to my kid without interference", then those are the kinds of politicians they're going to support and get elected.

I mean, let's be real: CPS isn't a very popular group in any state. And if you happen to have a state whose culture is unusually hostile to the notion of anyone telling them that they don't have the right to fuck with their kids, that's just going to make it less likely that CPS is going to have the legal right and community support to do their jobs effectively.

She clearly can't walk far, even athletic people would struggle to carry that much weight if it were strapped to em. and it is a good thing that doctors do not care how someone got to be disabled when they tell the dmv to give out placards. I have seen plenty of people become legitimately disabled from poor life choices, like DUIs where people lost legs, or smoking so much their lungs or heart failed, etc.


That was in washington state. However, the governor of oregon did face a bunch of flack for multiple failings in DCFS. The federal government got involved and said that oregon DCFS is seriously fucking up in most measurable ways. The department is being sued constantly by former or current foster children for negligence, and it seems like they usually win.

Recently there was a little kid, like 3 years old I think? Missing, kidnapped by his dad, endangered... it was all over the news. CONCURRENTLY there was a DHS investigation that had been initiated previously and the case worker closed the case stating no findings of risk. The kid was already a missing person, was found dead shortly before the case was closed, and the case worker assigned apparently did so little investigation that they couldn't figure that out.

It is VERY VERY difficult for kids to be removed from the home in Oregon. Those kids that went on the cliff with their moms were from Portland and OR DHS had been called on them but IIRC had not been able to meet with them. The parents bailed with the kids the day after CPS left a business card on their door, and they were all dead days later. There has to be very significant well documented physical abuse in order to have a child removed or even have parenting time restricted, it is fucking insane and so frustrating.

I've had ocular migraines (according to my GP). Basically no actual headache, but I would lose vision for a couple of minutes in one eye. My gyno told me it was a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) which is sometimes called a mini-stroke. It is a warning that you are at risk of having a stroke. Mine was caused by birth control pills. Once I stopped taking them, they went away.

Sounds like this may be similar to what she had.

All the mad shitty lesbians' children were adopted out to them, one by one over time, by the state, which to me is also a strike against them. Not one biological child among them.

I hold the state/child services responsible for not seeing through the horrible cunts to begin with, as they clearly had grotesque pesonalities and ideas behind the 'wholesome' image, and secondly for allowing extra adoptions as time went on given nbody can cope with special needs kids in such quantities and all later in life adoptions are special needs in some way given those kids usually have major psych issues from being abandoned and in the system for much of their lives.

I have a great and well-founded suspicion of child collectors, which is a term I use for anyone who adopts randomly and constantly, beyond their ability to care for those children properly. Anyone who collects adopted children like Pokemon cards though, especially difficult to handle, special needs kids like ALL those kids were, their motives are never, ever clean. It's all about the adoptive paents' needs to maintain some odd 'saintly' image (and if you want that image, it's because you're NOT saintly and you know it), it's a modern equivalent of baby farming for cash if the state pays you a wage or gibs to do it ... and in some cases it's a way of getting kids without anyone who cares for them to abuse in some way. All this as well applies to the likes of celebs like Jolie and her child army of dubious and in some cases illegal foreign adoptions as well as the bottom of the class barrel crazies mentioned in this thread. Anyone who organizes their endless stream of kids into 'teams' with uniforms is also on my radar as a fuckhead too.

As of course is Amy, with her illegal trafficking of a child to meet her own special need to be a 'mommy', something she wants because it fits an image of herself she wants to fulfil, not because she enjoys actually caring for kids or is any good at it as we can all witness through her videos.
