Then you say Ron and Monica can use their insurance for their fees and now their lawyers are asking for a new judge and trial.

Isn't it Lemoine asking for a new trial since he couldn't get the money he wanted? If so, doesn't he know he could get a judge that actually gives a damn about reading up on the facts of the case and rule in favour of Vic? Shane and his circle of penisheaded Twitter friends really don't know that Lemoine should just take the L and wait for appeals.

What's funny is they both knew at the time of the TCPA dismissal itself that the "legal reasoning" that was the ratio decidendi was complete trash, but couldn't admit that while agreeing with the decision itself. It put Lawtwitter into such a dilemma. Only a couple of them even openly acknowledged it as problematic, though.

Now they're in the position of looking at his absolute refusal to even provide legally required findings of fact and conclusions of law.

I think they were operating under the assumption that Vic would pay "all fees."

The defendants trusted Sabat to do the research into the TCPA. He gave the thumbs up that yes, this is in fact how it works.

Turns out it doesn't work that way so now the defendants are probably pretty pissed at Sabat.

Which is funny to me, because even if true, what are they gonna do about it? I guarantee Sabat is a cowardly little faggot who would immediately wither under any actual consequences for his bullshit, but he's still in a position that, to them, is significant. More importantly, they choose to only go after people "digitally" that they think can't or won't fight back, hence the anal agony about Vic filing suit in the first place.

Sabat, as much as he is a dishonest little snake of a man, isn't stupid. So he probably knows they're pissed at him, but doesn't give a fuck, because he knows they ain't gonna do shit.

I doubt Gen will do anything. He'll prolly assume Monica and Ron get dragged back on appeals and they'll escape because FUNi's weasel words trick the appeal judges or some equally as ridiculous of thinking. The people who run Sony and FUNimation are pretty stupid and WILL do extremely exceptional things in the name of wokeness, regardless of money lost.

Sabat is probably the "smart guy" of their group. He has the successful business, he has the connections, and the skills to do anything. They trust him because of those things.

Now the smart guy has just cost them 160k and growing. How could he screw them over like that? Is he actually their friend or are they just next in a long line of "industry misunderstandings" they always looked the other way on?

The knives will come out for Sabat. Sadly the lawsuit is probably protecting him even as it wears the defendants down.

They're just his meat shields. He laughs at them as the fucking fools and dupes they are. He gets the benefit of getting rid of someone who was going to become a rival director, and they get a good solid dicking from the law.

Maybe king lolcow of weeb wars, but he is low tier as far as the farms goes.
