All the boomers joining for /r/t_d who then roamed around like wild coyotes, howling 'Cuuuuuuuck' at any thread they didn't like, made things massively worse.
Of course, a lot of large subreddits shoah'd them pretty quickly, but it's not like we lost a bunch of intelligent conversationalists. Chapotards didn't reach peak faggotry until 2018 anyways. Chapo's entire success was frankly built on Trump's victory. The real problem in 2016 was correct the record drones turning entire swaths of reddit into Clinton propaganda.

Nah, the subreddit's pretty fired up about it.
Some defeatists on there though, there's one that literally does not show up unless something does not go their way. When that happens, this user just says that the US is going to go left permanently, conservatives are cowards because they have jobs, nothing done the past 3 years matters since Trump only played defence and that The_Donald needs to take the Black Pill and give up.
But in general, their response is actually pretty similar to the Farms: The Democrats have just fucked themselves in the ass. This whole thing won't go anywhere.

Highly unlikely. Trump may have gotten to the trial portion of the impeachment proceedings (impeachment means being put on trial, not necessarily being kicked out), but the Senate is the one that votes to keep him in office.
Basically, Trump is safe and the Democrats are wasting their time. Thats the mainstream Republican view. Nothing unusual or lolworthy there.

If t_d gets half the traffic that they think they do then Reddit may not be able to without deepsixing the traffic on their website. No matter how cultish the subreddit is, it brings in tons of clicks and modern websites desperately need those. Reddit is popular but not like it was. t_d dominated the front page before reddit started diddling the website to put a stop to that.

There is literally nothing wrong with Chris Murphy's statement. Nobody (except for Iranians) is arguing that Soleimani was a good person. He was a piece of shit. The issue comes from his death (specifically, the manner of his death) sparking another Iraq-esque war, which would waste trillions of dollars and many, many lives. But nah, if you point out the consequences of Trump's actions and want to avoid yet another war you're clearly an Iranian puppet.
