I'm not sure if this is threadworthy or if I'm just sperging because of my own politics, but Nick's response on Telegram yesterday to Trump threatening to bomb Iranian heritage sites felt like neocon rhetoric to me. iirc he supported Trump launching missles into Syria early into his presidency as well but I don't have a source on that handy. To me, intervention in the Middle East is never "America First," and Trump's opposition to it during the campaign in 2016 was a big part of why he was successful.

Well let me tell you a story from not too long ago and was from my time.

So long ago before the Internet took the world by storm and scams from crowdfunding campaigns came to be, there was Jimmy Swaggert in which in the 1980's and the 1990's he was the household name for televangelists.

So Jimmy Swaggert was the type of guy that would preach against stuff like how fantasy books were the devil, he was one of the people that would start the infamous 'Satanist Scare' of the 1980's, preach why comic books made people gay, why video games and cartoons are evil, all the stupid shit that the old boomer televangelists would use to say to scare parents back then.

Then, it happened. He then got caught having sex with a hooker in 1991 and that really tarnished his reputation. Of course he did apologized afterwards but he was never the same after that and over time he just faded into irrelevancy with every now and then his name pops up on occasion.

The reason why I'm saying this is because I know how this story usually goes, I've seen it countless times.

Now you may think that I'm A-Logging or sounding autistic for saying all of this but once you see this shit more with your own eyes as you get older then you'll start seeing how fucking shitty these people really are and why you should look at these people more with a critical eye too.
