Saved By The Bell is Coming Back... - ...with a transgender lead! Just what fans of the show were asking for!

I always pegged Saved By the Bell as the instigator for the decline of network Saturday Morning Cartoons since, even at the time (given that I was already in my teen years when it started), it felt like something NBC was airing because it was cheaper than animation. I mean, obviously, there had been other live-action shows on American network Saturday mornings before, in my era the most obvious example being Pee-Wee's Playhouse, but a show like Pee-Wee's Playhouse despite being non-animated (aside from the Penny cartoons and the old copyright-lapsed cartoons the King of Cartoons showed), still had a cartoon-like vibe about it. Saved By the Bell just felt like it was a cheapass sitcom too shabby to be on in prime time.

These days, I know the real reason for the decline of network Saturday Morning Cartoons was that original animated shows were being produced both for cable channels like Nickelodeon and also for syndication leaving fewer reasons for kids to get up early on Saturday mornings due to network television no longer being the only game in town for original animtion, and also because of the resurgence of home video game consoles after the mid-1980s video game crash, but Saved By the Bell still feels to me like a symbol of the erosion of Saturday morning network TV being for cartoons first and foremost.

Or maybe I was just too old for it... I mean, I was already 14 by the time Saved By the Bell started airing, not that I wasn't still interested in watching Saturday morning cartoons as insipid as most of them were if I'm being honest.

Even before I saw the subtitle, I told myself, "Let me guess, they're going to have transgendered people in it." To see I'm right isn't surprising, sadly. *sigh*

Will it be even worse than The New Class? I won't be surprised if one member of the cast of this reboot will follow the example of Dustin Diamond.
Even for all the valid criticisms one can raise with the original, it was still successful and popular enough for some of the cast to become better known and move on to other work (Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley immediately come to mind). SBTB: The New Class never came close to filling the big shoes left behind by its predecessor; neither the characters nor the new cast members were really all that attention-getting. I think there was a character named Lindsay, but I could neither tell for certain nor recall who played her.

I don't see how this reboot can be as popular as either of its predecessors. With more average people starting to see how consistently awful the woke reboots of their favorites are, they may actively choose to ignore this version.

"new Saved by the bell is canceled because nobody watched it..THOSE TRANSPHOBES TRUMP TRUMP TRUUUMMMPPP!!!
My prediction is that after 1-2 episodes tops, the target Tumblrina audience will start making callout posts pointing out every in-show microaggression and problematic item while they order their mutuals to stage a mass-boycott of the show in solidarity.

Either way, those that didn't want to see the woke reboot will be saved by the bell marking the shooting of the final episode.

I would really like to see the people who come up with these fucking terrible ideas. Saved by the Bell remake with troon Kelly? It's going to be a worse trainwreck than this pile of shit was.

Huh. So apparently a teenaged boy in a frock who looks like a combination of Pete Davidson and a middle-aged lesbian is what is most desirable to high school boys and envied by high school girls these days. The entertainment industry is huffing glue at this point if they think anyone is buying this cringe propaganda.

I can see there being an episode about not assuming someone’s genitals
Going by the "much needed and hilarious dose of reality" description I would say we can assume every episode is going to feature at least one lesson about some stupid far-left issue no one else cares about. There'll be one (or more) non-binary genderspecial, gay people all over the place, cultural appropriation call-outs, and so on.

Also significantly less attempts at being funny, not that the original was particularly funny to begin with.
