In spite of the readily available information that surgery is NOT a Magic Cure; that a ton of disciplined work remains to be done, I feel a lot of those wanting surgery still secretly believe it's an easy solution.

I see it as anything but - the risk from the surgery itself is high because of the weight & the associated issues. There is a higher than average rate of complications. Post-op eating, if a patient really wants to be successful; requires constant vigilance & a form of discipline that many won't be able to handle. Depending on the specific procedure as well as the patient, the surgery leaves you open to other medical issues later on.

I don't know how long various forms of bariatric surgery have been performed but we often learn the hard way - today's solutions to medical issues can lead to some severe unintended medical consequences later.

Yea, unfortunately this us kinda the way society has become shaped ecspecially in the face of disorders and mental illness.we like to think we live in a world were now more than ever we understand mental illness and disorders, but we are so far from it. We have all these surgeries treated as panaceas for all our ailments ( obesity, BIID,GD etc.) But no science or understanding seem to go into, well, actually understanding these really terrible disorders. It's just all excuses and one sided studies and lies to push people to put more money into a world economy half ruled by pharmaceuticals. We have gotten to the point were we have people like that women who said she's wishes she could afford surgery, but lacks the self awareness and intelligence to realize she can do It on her own.
Idk OT rambling I suppose but it just hurts to see all this laziness, misunderstanding, and terrible treatment of bodies and mental illness in modern society.

Now these are the general rules in Europe and I assume that person is american? Might be different rules, so keep that in mind. Here you can get the surgery if you have a BMI over 40. However if you have any diseases or health complications you can get it with a BMI over 35. And she has a BMI of over 38. Sounds really strange though regardless, getting weight loss surgery while in the 100s.

Well, I knew an exceptional cow irl who was a bit overweight, but had to have a certain BMI in order for her insurance to cover the surgery. The stupid bitch deliberately GAINED weight in order to qualify for surgery. 10 years later and the cunt is bigger than she was when she started after gaining weight for the surgery. I remember her family blamed her husband and the poor guy had been trying to talk sense into her and telling her it was fucking stupid, but they blamed him. They're divorced now, thankfully for him.

That's true, but if they manage to keep the weight off, they're better off looking old.

A lot of these people. they lose the weight, physically, but are mentally back where they were. Losing all of that weight, be it via surgery or the ones who lost it themselves, and still using ALR as an, 'at least' ('at least I..., unlike Amber..") They still need that, because they still see themselves as super fat and their self-esteem is still in the toilet. If you lost all that weight and could do things you've never done or haven't done in years, why is ALR even on your mind like that, t gain points against.

This is why some require you to see someone beforehand, because a.) they got that big for a reason and b.) to make sure their expectations for weight loss surgery aren't completely off. You CAN gain considerable weight back after surgery, if your mindset is the same.

I’ve never known anyone who got weight loss surgery who became a “skinny legend”. I’ve always seen them go from morbidly obese to like, high end of normal/low end of overweight, and then usually eventually up to obese, still fat but less fat than they were before. I don’t know. Learning how to eat like a normal person and getting into an exercise routine seems way more valuable long-term and it’s definitely less expensive and risky.

Other lolcows that have had weight loss surgeries such as Boogie and Wings, they went from super morbidly obese to 'normal' morbidly obese thanks 100% to the surgery and then gradually return to their super morbidly obese weight due to a complete lack of discipline and fucked up online culture where they make money due to being freak shows.

I would place very high odds on Amber being exactly like them. If she was possible for a surgery at this point, bitch may be dying with her infections.

And while I believe in never settling for pieces of shit, I also believe you have to be realistic. Some people don't want to date fatasses and that's ok. Beauty is subjective. It's what on the inside that counts. I don't watch Eric and it could just be the clips in that video but it seems like AL and Eric spent more time together during the holidays than with their boyfriend and girlfriend. The way AL is laughing when singing Happy Birthday to Becky and the rest of the time acts like she isn't even there. Sometimes AL played it up for the camera giving Becky some hugs or affection. I don't mean to start rumors but I wonder if they did break up. That could also explain Becky's extra slow motion slowness the last few months.
