I'm going to do my best to head off this particular misunderstanding at the curb, and point out in her tweet she only commented that she has a job at a company WITH an HR department (i.e. zoe finally got a job that isn't contract/gig work), not that she got a job IN the HR department.

That bit about supervisors being legally required to report incidents of harassment is told to everyone taking the training, probably because HR learned that harridans like Zoe will absolutely go around fabricating all sorts of rape-related drama
(for sympathy/personal promotion) while demanding no formal investigation took place to cover their ass, and the warning helps cut down on that by some hypothetical amount.

To me the tweet language is ambiguous (which in my conspiratorial mind is intentional but that's another dose of barbiturates). "Doing the California sexual harassment training" could refer to either training for or administered by an HR department. That said I would like to echo several posts made and say that HR is precisely where progs want to be because along with hiring managers they are the Trojan horse positions to get more of their ilk hired on and begin to shift workplace culture in the direction they are convinced is the correct one, along with stacking the deck against opposing voices and shoring up their own positions. Yes, I'm using wartime terminology and no, I don't think it's inapt. Puzzle rate away.

I sincerely hope by the time the tenth anniversary of GG rolls around no one will even remember it.
