ETA: That sexuality slider thing .. fucking hell, she wants us to know she halfway to 'hypersexual', super romantic and almost polyamorous! Why is it always the most boring, and unattractive folks who want to witter endlessly on about this stuff? I have a hard time believing she has any sex drive at all.

I'm sure she killed her husband's sex drive a long time ago. *rim shot*

Lividlipids is giving us more useless information about herself:

Why do you want people to know about your sexuality and sex drive? The only person who should be concerned with this is your husband.

Why u lyin, Lipids? :story:

Sex drive? Drive-through at McDonalds seems more fitting.

Also Corissa thinks that her rosacea flare-up (aka acne) is caused by Vitamin C. She clearly eats too many oranges.

If Lividlipids was my only option for sex in this world, I’d sooner join a convent and be abstinent forever. I can’t imagine how terrible Livid’s husband feels being around someone so disgusting. Would it really be so bad for Lividlipids to lose weight and work on looking more presentable?

Rosacea isn't acne though, unless you're saying she doesn't have rosacea? It can present like it with pustules but the underlying cause and mechanism is completely different as is treatment. Dermatologists stopped calling it 'acne rosacea' forever ago.

I don't doubt she has rosacea, but we all have eyes and her skin looks as fucked up as always.

In my evil mind I came to the conclusion that she blames her bad skin on rosacea so nobody can say that it's because of her poor diet. Just like deathfats like to blame PCOS for their obesity: "I am totally not at fault, I have a serious condition"

Nah--to young teens, she'd look like somebody's grandma.

The people who tell Corissa she looks younger than she is are all other women--and women lie to each other all the fucking time.

Sometimes it's malicious, but usually it's part of a culture of "niceness." That "niceness" has always been there, but it's grown immensely worse since the '80s, with the birth of the self-esteem movement, and an ever-increasing push in advertising and self-help circles to see every woman as "beautiful."

Now, it's obvious that not every woman is beautiful, and if second-wave feminism should have taught us anything it's that a woman doesn't have to be beautiful to be a worthy, accomplished, valuable human being. But that wasn't going to sell Dove beauty products, or Glamour Shots sessions, or "makeover" shows, or myriad other products and services, so through the power of advertising, we're now supposed to believe that every woman is beautiful, even if she obviously isn't, and that you're doing a great thing by affirming that she is.

Telling another woman that she's pretty, or looks amazing, when actually she looks like warmed-over shit in a leaky Walmart bag, isn't actually being kind and supportive--but it allows the person saying it to feel like she is, and if she does it on social media, others get to see how kind and supportive she is. There is a lot of egotism behind the giving of unwarranted compliments, even if the giver herself can't see or admit to it.

I see this all the fucking time in various sewing groups. Whenever a fat woman posts a pic of her latest garment, the rush to tell her how beautiful she looks is on. If it's skimpy, and shows a lot of skin, add "brave" to beautiful, with commenters telling her how they wish they had her confidence. Now, the garment might actually fit her, and be obviously well-made, but scarcely anybody points that out; it's still just one big, mad rush to tell her she's beautiful.

So is it any wonder that Corissa--fat, gravel-faced, alarmingly unhealthy-looking, and rapidly-aging Corissa--gets told she looks so youthful and lovely?
To be fair, makeup mogul Helena Rubinstein said back in the 1930’s “there are no ugly women, just lazy ones.” This idea that if you work hard enough at looking attractive then you can achieve it has been around forever, though prior to the 1850’s, the notion was that sweet pure thoughts, pious hard work, filial devotion and generally being the pure feminine ideal would add to your outer beauty. That and washing your face with the dew off plants on May Day morning, and other tripe.

Helena’s quote is not true...all the makeup in the world can’t fix a face like Virgie Tovar’s...but it sells product. The notion that you can be pretty if you just work at it enough has gone on forever, but recently been replaced with “fuck it, you’re beautiful anyway, stop beating yourself up and trying to be something you’re not.”

A noble sentiment and one meant to take the burden of “never good enough” off the shoulders of everyday women...but someone somewhere always has to make money, so it’s become EMPOWERING YASS QUEEN to buy endless self-care products to celebrate one’s inherent beauty, etc.

Just had a thought - Corissa may not be referring to consuming Vit C in food or tablets but using topical Vitamin C toners which are currently heavily promoted as an anti-ageing treatment. Some people cannot tolerate them at all, and honestly if you have very sensitive skin with rosacea, you're more than likely to be one of them. Usually less is more when it comes to rosacean skin.

If Corrissa’s skin is very sensitive, she should probably avoid scented products as well, since they can irritate the skin. She should go makeup free for a while too. Of course, weight loss and a better diet would really help her skin, but like all other FA, she’d rather stay fat and use a myriad of skincare products to solve the problem.

I think you are absolutely right about this, I didn't think she ingested too much Vit C, but uses beauty products which contain it.

But still....I am quite sceptical that her bad skin is only due to rosacea and not due to her poor hygiene and diet. She can barely bring herself to shower or wash her hair, so I doubt that she has a strict skincare routine.

Geez, I don't know, maybe go to a "HAES" derm (lol) to get some recommendations and some product samples. Or check out the hundreds of websites about rosacea, or even just buy something labeled "fragrance-free." Aveeno is good.

I'm so sick of social media crowdsourcing when these people's followers are all disgusting wrecks themselves. Reminds me of Livid's request for gunt rash cream.

Oh, poor nutrition and hormones all over the place will generally exacerbate existing inflammatory skin issues for sure. As will poor skincare, slapping on stuff that irritates the skin or leaving excess oil on there to fester.

Derms will usually prescribe metronidazole gel or cream for topical use for rosacea to start with. It's also useful to see what if anything you eat tends to flare it up. Some people react to alcohol, or spicy foods, it varies person to person.

Maybe seeing Livids' square gunt and parabolic tits multiple times today has broken my ugly meter, but I think a nose job, a flattering haircut, skin care and weight loss (along with not dressing like a neon tard) would be enough to make Virgie look ok. Not model gorgeous or anything but presentable enough that you could walk by her without internally going "DAMN she fugly"
