Why does Nintendo Promote fire Emblem and not Xenoblade?
Fire Emblem is crap when compared to other existing SRPG franchises.
Man, that's a good question. Xenoblade's releases have been really clumsy in North America.
-Xenoblade Chronicles was released two years late, at a time when the Wii was all but dead, exclusive to Gamestop, full price, and it had a smallish print run which jacked up second-hand prices like crazy.
-Xenoblade Chronicles X was a Wii U exclusive that actually got a wide release, but it was Wii U exclusive so lmao (and it didn't review nearly as well as XBC)
-Xenoblade Chronicles 3D also got a proper release but WHOOPS it's New Nintendo 3DS only, one of only two games to be exclusive to N3DS for a long time,
and the New 3DS (non-XL) released late and as part of an Animal Crossing bundle of all things, I don't even know if a non-themed N3DS ever came out in America. The fact that every New 3DS didn't even come with a charger didn't help matters, either.
-Xenoblade Chronicles 2... didn't have anything stupid happen to it, but doesn't have a representative in Smash and doesn't seem to be talked about much outside of RPG communities
But I guess Xenoblade doesn't have as many marketable waifus as Fire Emblem, so here we are. Talk about a franchise that Nintendo's fumbled.
