If he can't comprehend being unloved, in what way would it hurt him to be told he is not loved? If he finds pain to be a sign of love, then why would being physically hurt by a loved one cause him any sadness? I feel like Sam Fennel added those bits because he wanted to corrupt this infinitely lovable boi of ours into something easier to kill and torture, but you can't have lore that immediately contradicts your other lore...

As for Shuck's horns, I will admit to liking the split end on the one, it's an interesting little scar that I haven't seen done before (though for all I know, horns wouldn't actually break like that and he fails biology forever). But you'd think he'd dedicate a few more polys to the actual curve. C'mon man, that's PS2 quality.

Why can't Fennah ever animate mouths properly? His glorified space barbarian furries never shut up so he should have learned by now.
For serious, despite all his OCs fedora talk about being wise and sciencey they do come off like space barbarians. He'd never have the common sense to really roll with that angle either.

Maybe Fennah could write off the way his OCs talk as a quirk from being aliens? Shuck’s jaw truly looks terrible, and no jaw should go that sideways when speaking. Fennah could learn more by actually observing the way living things move their mouths. The mouth movements he makes don’t even match the sound they’re producing either. This dude is actually proud of the fact that he doesn't use real life as a reference.
I draw plenty of made-up creatures, and the key to making them GOOD is to make them biologically plausible, unless magic or some shit is involved. And for that, you need to reference real animals. You certainly don't have to copy them, but having that root in reality helps greatly, especially where animation is concerned.
