Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

There's no real issue cited with what's on A&H- just petty racists like @Iwasamwillbe spreading their bigoted attitudes outside the off-topic boards.

I don't care what people say in A&H. Just exercise restraint in the on-topic boards. There's boomers, moderates, and lefties there who just want content. It's like visiting your aunt's house and eating dinner with your cousins. If you're going to say it, be concise and make sure it's relevant.

People get that already, dude. It's the notion that all of A&H is responsible as a collective for the /pol/ spergs who go into the on topic areas, and the fact that the board is now moderated and hidden from public view wasn't enough to stop the bitching about this section that's got people riled up.

Most of the posters in A&H aren't pol spergs, and the people who are accusing this section of being the origin of all the jew sperging seem like they're doing so because they're pissed that A&H isn't r/politics, and would like to rectify the situation.

Why are these gimmick accounts allowed to fester? Ron /pol/ was allowed to shit the place up for months with low effort gimmickry. He should have been struck through after the first week when it became obvious that he wasn't serious. And why is Cat Party allowed to not post direct links to news articles from sources he dislikes (and yet uses anyway.) I do not want users to be bound in by long, unnecessary, stifling rules. But the rules are not long, are not unnecessary and do not stifle discussion. They should be enforced. This also applies outside of A&H, nothing posts should be removed. The rules say they are not wanted and that your post should contribute something to the thread. Thats what Kiwifarms used to read like too, but now I go into, for instance, any Weeb Wars thread and can't make heads or tails of any of it because the circlejerk is so strong.

Funnily enough the misplaced thread reports are nearly exclusively from a single user. The double-post reports also come from almost exclusively a single, different user.
