I wonder if they were trying to do the same thing that'd happened with the British Flag. Given the usual racism of most of the news outlets it's hard to tell if it's real but I've heard people get into trouble over that flag because it "offended" someone, maybe this lot were aiming for that.

Unbelievable. So them being offended at satire of themselves is more important than someone's job.
Also, they fired her not because of the allegations the people were saying, but because the amount of calls received because of her was overwhelming? How many people were doxing and harassing her and the company?

Well it appears they might be here on educational visas but you don't visit foreign countries and tell them how Shitty they are. That kind of shit gets us called ugly Americans.
Fuck them if this place is so intolerable they can go the fuck back home. Either they're us kids that don't appreciate their subsidized public education or they're rich foreigners who are personally benefitting from the kinds of income disparities that we do as a nation.
Go ahead and hold us accountable for bad behavior talk about our problems but don't broadly shit on us as a nation

The link that posted the overturning of the flag said they would remove not only the American flag but other flags as well. As stupid as it sounds, at least it's trying to be equal in some way (then again, I could just misinterpreted what I read and typed nonsense).

Because the American flag itself is a symbol of imperialism. Sure, there was Manifest Destiny which went against the Natives but the U.S. flag wouldn't be the only symbol. There are also other flags such as the British flag and the Japanese flag. Really, as much as how these flags can be used by nationalist and such, did these people think that anyone non-American would get uncomfortable or offended by the U.S. flag? I'm sure most students just see it as cloth patterned in the colors of the nation, just like any other national flag.

I'm a little sympathetic that maybe they wanna get rid of nationalistic symbols in general. But not much.
