C. It didn't actually come from snakes, China's incompetent. It came from eating raw bats and is the same kinda crap that happens every decade or so thanks to conditions in the country.

Wait... can someone else confirm this?

Did the rest of China just get owned?
A sign of things to come perhaps?

Use bleach, my guys. If you don't want to go for the heavy shit, get some bleach spray. Nothing gets past that motherfucker but you gotta really think about everything on you/around you that could have been exposed while out of the house.

Nobody can laugh at you for bleaching everything when you get off work if they're drowning from within while you're doing it.

Remember kids, your phone is fucking filthy - and so are your clothes, your earphone cords, your face, your handbag and your hair. Even your washing machine isn't safe if the shit hits the fan - put some bleach in an empty cycle before you stick a new load in there.

Just wrote this and sent this to friends. I offer this for your consideration.

Emperor Xi Has No Clothes

Bottom line up front: The ongoing and worsening debacle in Wuhan has damaged China's reputation and Xi's reputation, possibly irreparably. This will affect not just foreign relations, but internal conditions.

What we have here in Wuhan is a typical case of the historic model of Chinese rule. Whether the ruler is called an emperor, the chairman, or the general secretary, it's all the same. Political parties don't matter, either.

Under this system everything is driven from the top down. Underlings who deviate from this can face consequences such as losing their jobs, freedom, or even their lives. Underlings that bring bad news to the Emperor can and have faced similar consequences. So there was a real incentive for the Wuhan mayor/government to not inform Beijing that things were getting rapidly out of control.

To the Chinese, and like a lot of people in general, saving face is vital. Have heard that China refused aid (masks) from Japan and Thailand. Okay, don't want the masks? Then how about cracking open the People's Liberation Army's extensive war reserve stocks of masks and other medical gear? Far as I know ONE plane is being dispatched from the USA to pick up Americans. Bet the State Department asked to be allowed to send more than one plane. Nope, no way does Xi want to see a number of airliners, or even worse, military transport planes from other countries, descending upon Chinese airports to get their people out. Would be fairly easy for us to send in a bunch of USAF C-17s, for example. Got 'em in the Pacific, ready to go.

There's a lot of info going around. Have heard that the Chinese first started looking for the people who passed the word of the budding epidemic. Saw a video from someone in Wuhan describing the chaos there. If he's caught, curtains for him. Now just heard that the Chinese are looking for people who have illegally left Wuhan. Why? That horse is long gone. And no way can you effectively "lock down" a city of ten million. If you want out, you can get out.

Folks, consider this. Over the last thirty years or so China has made some tremendous strides. They've built an incredible amount of infrastructure/housing/industrial plants/etc. Many shiny and glittering cities. But go twenty miles outside those fancy cities and you go back fifty or sixty years. Got millions and millions of people who live at a much lower standard of living than the city dwellers.

Here's an anus-clenching question. If things are so chaotic in major cities, which ostensibly have large, supposedly capable medical systems, then what is happening in the thousands upon thousands of smaller towns and villages? With the Chinese New Year, chances are many infected people went to see family in the country/smaller towns. These places simply will not have the capability to care for large numbers of sick people flooding in. If lucky, the sick will get a place on the floor and a blanket. If not, they are sent home.

Another anus-clenching question. I am not a doctor or an epidemiologist. But if this virus supposedly went from bats to people, could this virus later go from people to other animals, such as pigs, cows, or chickens, mutate, and come back to humans? Keep in mind China has been fighting a major outbreak of African swine flu, resulting in the loss of millions of pigs. Still ongoing. That's one reason they now want to buy pork from us.

Have also heard this virus could have escaped from a biological warfare facility in the Wuhan area. I can believe it. People don't always follow procedures.

Now, why a relatively muted international outcry over this outbreak? Yup, you guessed it. Don't want to offend the Chinese. Well, that horse needs to leave the barn, as well. Xi has demonstrated his "face" is more important than people's health. His actions are morally bankrupt. China, for the glittering facade the emperor wants us to accept, is little more than a house of cards in the face of what could be another 1918-like pandemic.

Emperor Xi has no clothes. And if I believe this, think how many others, world-wide, believe the same thing.

Uncle Joe
Cities are inherently more susceptible to epidemics than the countryside, so the technological gap will just balance this factor out. It's quite possible that this obsession with saving face and appearing to have everything under control caused an overreaction, both because it's an opportunity to flex state power against a universally hated target (disease) and the potential for this to morph into some "You lost the Mandate of Heaven" type shit if left unchecked.

Warning Level 3 Updated January 27, 2020
China makes about $250 Billion a year in tourism, plus money spent on other stuff while people are there.

Not a huge hit to their economy to lose a month or two. If they lost a year, that's about 0.25% of their GDP - which would be major.

Just found out that the Texas A&M student doesn’t have coronavirus. Thank Christ Corona-Chan didn't visit my state. Good luck to the rest of you.
What an atttention whore! Remember people, don't go to the hospital unless y
What I have heard so far
  • As of last night no more confirmed cases (So it remains at 5 so far)
  • However 110ish people are now being investigated
  • Around 33 people have been cleared without sign of the virus
  • CDC at this time doesn't think the Virus is spreading in the US and is being contained
  • Because of this, they think current risk of Virus for average Americans is "low", though they insist this is a evolving situation
  • CDC finally got samples from two American Victims and uploaded them to a database for other researchers to look at; The Virus matches the one the Chinese uploaded and because of this at this time it seems like the Virus HAS NOT mutated yet
  • Samples of the Virus have now been cultivated for researchers to study and are being sent out
  • A test to confirm the Virus has been made and they first are sending the kits to "critical" states before the rest and other international groups to diagnose the virus
  • CDC hints strongly a changes in airport policy in the next few days; Recommended now that all flights to the Rest of China take extra caution
  • CDC says their general estimate is that incubation rate is around 2-14 days
  • They admitted R number will just take time to confirm; Restated that "most of the articles" estimates place it around 1.5-3 which the CDC rep says doesn't make that much of a dramatic difference
  • When asked on Origin of the Virus, CDC admits they are still compairing it with other Coroanvirus' and that while it "kind of is similar to a Bat Coroanvirus, more research needs to be done"
  • Since they are still studying the Virus, they are using experience dealing with MERS and SARS to say that they think that due to a very low survivability of the Virus on surfaces that ranges in hours, the "Virus is very, very unlikely to survive on packages from Wuhan"
  • CDC has heard from China about potential asymptomatic transmission, but say so far they have seen no evidence of this and observations of the close contacts (the 110 plus cleared 33 earlier) have shown no sign of it; They say if this changes they will notify immediately on their website.
  • People in observation are identified by being at wuhan + illness
  • How Children are impacted by the Virus is still an unknown as the Virus as mostly hit adults so far, though with rumors in China about kids being infected we will have to wait and see
  • It takes around a day between putting someone on observation and getting their test results, depending on the circumstances.
  • They hope/want doctors to have the testing kit by two weeks from now
  • They are actually considering raising the rest of China to avoid non-essential travel (oh kek, China is fucked)
  • When asked what 22 states have people under observation, the CDC lady replied they are incredibly sensitive to releasing state names before confirming if the Virus is there
  • Even though direct flights from Wuhan have been stopped, many of the people they are observing now tried to shuttle to different airports, THEN enter the US; Those people are still being classified as flights from Wuhan
  • Finally, CDC congratulates the people who realized they left Wuhan a week ago, had a flu, then immeidately called their local government/ CDC to inform them they might have the Virus.

Done. All in all... cautiously optimistic? Their entire lynchpin seems to be that this is related to SARS and MERS so there is no asypmatic transmission, so there is the possibility this is a modified bioweapon and the CDC gets owned; However it seems like they are about to fully crack down on flights between China and the US and if there is not asypmatic transmission they are actually partially containing it.
'Kay fellas, the wallet came in today. Address says it was shipped directly from Shanghai on the 7th. Who knows when the virus entered Shanghai, though, and if the person who sold it to me caught it--but it was a new wallet, wrapped in plastic, not sure how impenetrable that is.

Starting the clock now. Will start a second clock when/if the second item comes in in a couple weeks.
Your wallet is fine. Something like this can survive hours without a host environment, not days.

I imagine they are loosing more mony from the 50M+ sitting at home all day for an indefinite amount of time
