They're right. He's been incredibly defensive about all this shit, which is telling when almost all the information about this is from him. Even his wife had more class than to dredge this shit up on the internet, she never named names. The only reason he brought Logan on to post on the website was partly a bad attempt at damage control and partly just a petulant effort to show everyone else how Not Mad he is about all this.

I would like to add that Burt Sexual is incredibly stupid. I have never seen anyone so completely clueless and unable to discern meaning from people's words, who is also a mod. Like, I've seen autistic people who are too dense to understand basic communication, but imagine putting that person in charge of moderating speech on a internet comedy forum. What a treat!

While this may be true, and she was a fuck-up who made a terrible decision, she was the one at home everyday loving and caring for the baby that resulted from that terrible decision, while hubby LowT was one-upping her in bad-decision making, by being on his already 3 week long, length-indefinite, holiday seasonn family abandonment tour of Utah, with his favorite Mormon groupie tagging along. He blew Ashli away too, even documented it all on Facebook, so everyone could see who was the real deal AAA #1 Big League fuckup🏆🎉,

Damn, it would be such a shame if we missed him bringing his one man show as William H Macy in Fargo to other platforms. He's really starting to nail it and I'd love to see other audiences' reactions

i'd argue there weren't the sorts of red flags we see now that were immediately obvious then.

i remember her posting some videos of lowtax on her twitter and he was being, well, a lovable dork, jumping around at a theater's screen during a terrible movie where they were the only ones in there, it was definitely charming! and I think the self-deprecating humor really masks the ego he has underneath.

his money problems weren't in dire straits at the time, his spine was only starting to fuse together, and for his age he looked relatively young (now it seems like he's aged 10+ years in less than 5). plus, his two daughters are very bright and funny themselves, so on the surface, it would seem like he's a good dad, right?

all that was really up against was some angry people on the internet, and there's always angry people on the internet

we're seeing who he really is now, and only a fucking moron would be interested in the ghoul he's been proudly presenting himself as: enter Logan Day.

Being willing to marry someone you barely know is a huge red flag. Each of them should have seen it as a warning sign, but reckless impulsiveness seems to be a flaw they have in common.

Ashli falling pregnant when she came to visit and claiming to be too ill to return to Canada during the entire pregnancy is a red flag, too.

I have no sympathy for Lowtax, but I think the entire relationship was a collision of two dysfunctional people from the very start.

I feel like everyone is missing a really crucial fact about the pregnancy: she was getting up to the point in age where it becomes dangerous for the child's development in the womb. It was impulsive, but it's hard to call it reckless since it's easy to argue that waiting would be far more reckless - and you can't exactly always get pregnant the moment you want to be, sometimes it can take time, so if you wait until when it's perfect, it might not happen, so she was in the position where the best thing to do was to try early and often... a malformed infant is a far more permanent problem than a messy divorce.

obviously I don't buy that the pregnancy was an accident or she was too ill to return to Canada. She probably just had an expired visa and this was going to be an anchor baby. It could've been something else though. She's not an idiot and she is demonstrating she knows when to keep her mouth shut, and Lowtax is at least capable of being tight-lipped when it doesn't challenge his ego.

Even if we assume that was a major motivation for her getting pregnant so fast, she didn't need to marry Lowtax in order to get pregnant and spit out his spawn. It also doesn't explain why Lowtax proposed to her so soon after they met (I suspect it had to do with his ego and securing himself a trophy wife).

given Lowtax's fervent hatred of religion, he probably has very religious parents (if they're still alive) that would disown his ass for having a baby out of wedlock, and it could be the same for her, people forget that wedlock is still a very big deal to boomers and getting shut out of inheritance money is a fucking bitch

I could be completely wrong, but this is just one of many possible reasons why, and I honestly don't see how marriage even changes this situation too significantly in the first place - if anything it favors her more than him. There's also a clear financial incentive... just too many variables to speculate on as to why, until there's more info I'm giving that the benefit of the doubt.

I'm guessing that a lot of this was just manipulation/abuse by Lowtax to make Ashli dependent on him.

I'm curious if her 'being sick' and preventing her from moving back to Canada was an attempt at saving face and trying to brush some of Lowtax's shitty behavior under the rug.

Lowtax doesn't really care about religion, seemingly doesn't care about his children (texts aside, he let Shmorky of all fucking people take care of his kids) and he cares a shitton about making sure his immediate needs are being met. Better to have maplewife available to dote on him and take care of the kids than worry about the fact you're going to have another Goon Jr. running around shitting their pants.

I'd venture to guess he didn't think much further than the fact Ashli met some of his needs that would allow him to continue to wander around in life in a drug induced haze with little to no responsibilities.
