It's my understanding that mood disorder + symptoms of schizophrenia = schizotypal or schizoaffective disorder. The former is a psychiatric disorder, the latter a personality disorder.

Lucas has demonstrated mania, depression, delusional and disordered thinking, and borderline obsessive/compulsive behavior. As a sperg on the net, I am qualified to diagnose Lucas, and declare him schizoaffective or typal. There's a wealth of evidence in his social media.

Remember who also suffered from this malady? The monster cow of legend, Nick Bate. Anally obsessed kid rapist, who is remembered in the chronicles of Kiwis as the worst of the worst.

So Lucas is in good company, and he's not compliant with treatment. Off his meds? Drinking, which renders his meds worthless? Not participating in therapy?

The video mentions that, both before and after the acute phase of schizophrenia, which involves florid hallucinations or delusions, the pre- and post-acute phases (the Dr in the vid has another term but I forget) can mimic the symptoms of schizotypal......so you may well be right.

I myself don't fully understand these classifications, but I like to see how Lucas fits into the broader category of people with his sorts of conditions; how typical are his crazy ideas, etc.

I would love for a Dr. like the one in the vid to take a look at Lucas's vids and give us his opinion.

Can't really fault that, people get misdiagnosed all the time either because their symptom set is mistaken for something else, they have a lousy shrink, or they're not honest about their symptoms or the severity of them to their doctor. If he was misdiagnosed and told he had schizophrenia, it'd make perfect sense that he and his mother would both 'admit' to being schizophrenic; you trust a professional to give you an accurate diagnosis and that doesn't always happen.

I only bring that up as I was misdiagnosed for years and it was so frustrating for me not understanding why I had The Diagnosis and had tried various medications specifically for the diagnosis in question but they had almost no effect, even at incredibly high doses, and I was still experiencing symptoms and now was also experiencing sometimes very, very unpleasant side effects.

What happened in my case was I was unknowingly seeing an idiot who believed that ADD was a "myth" and that all cases of ADD were misdiagnosed bipolar disorder (1, 2, both, and probably variants he just made up, that guy was a fucking quack who was well known as someone to avoid taking children to as he had no qualms about putting kids as young as 6 on high doses of lithium to treat their "bipolar"), so he diagnosed me, based on pretty classic ADD symptoms, as having bipolar disorder because there's a lot of bleed over in the symptoms of both in adults and children and he didn't believe that ADD was real; his stupid ass bias of, "ADD is a myth," had me on the wrong meds for the better part of 10 years and in therapy I didn't need for a disorder I didn't have.

Once I finally got a new doctor and a correct diagnosis, which got me on the correct medications and the correct type of therapy, there was a night and day difference.

The alcohol as self medication part is unfortunately likely. He admitted in past videos that he'd been using weed instead of meds but he hasn't mentioned that in awhile and the impression I got from other videos was that it was too expensive and based on his pretty erratic behavior getting worse, it wasn't working anyway, so he switched to the cheaper option which is usually alcohol.

That definitely doesn't work and usually makes any depressive and manic episodes more intense.

I also get being wary of meds if he was on meds that weren't working and also gave him side effects he couldn't handle or didn't find acceptable but goddamn, you can't self medicate that shit away with alcohol or weed (for the most part, some people have good luck with it, and it makes things worse for others), just go back to the shrink, tell them the meds you currently have either don't seem to be helping your symptoms or that the side effects are intolerable and most will happily try a different medication or a different dose.

But, nah, he doesn't need meds, the problem is just that hot 18 year olds won't fuck him.

Mental illness in general has a pretty wicked stigma, but the two that can be the most life ruining because people who aren't familiar with them tend to wildly misunderstand them are schizophrenia and BPD.

I either know or have family that have one or the other and the majority of them are absolutely terrified of anyone other than people very, very close and trusted to them finding out out of fear that they'll have friendships and other relationships cut off , lose their job if they have one, be kicked out of housing if they live with roommates, family, a partner, or friends etc...due to baseless fears about both disorders with the main largely false stereotype that they'll be unpredictably violent or might even kill someone when the reality is people with mental illness in general, but especially schizophrenia, are more likely to be the victims of abuse and violence than they are the ones who carry it out.

BPD is a different can of worms but the fear there is usually that, if people find out about the diagnosis, they'll be cut off as the main stereotype there is people with BPD are always manipulative and abusive and are that way innately and act the way they act out of calculated, malicious intent.

Both also are made worse by the fact that people online often fake having one or both if they get called out for behaving like an asshole, which just adds to the stigma that people with either disorder are unstable, manipulative, abusive, and all of that fun.

Given the overall state of Lucas' life the past 6+ years, the fact that he's pretty loud about having stopped taking his meds, and the fact that the flophouse he lives in seems to actually have rules about tenant behavior, it's pretty easy to see why he'd be hair trigger touchy about being called schizophrenic, especially if it was a misdiagnosis.

Fair points, though given how touchy lucas is about being called out for having schizophrenia and how he goes out of his way to lie about not having admitted to having it in the past, it still makes me think there is something to the diagnosis of schizophrenia. Why else would he be so touchy about that? You would think he would latch onto anything else and make a point of going on and on about how the doctor was wrong to rub it in his face and his 'haters' faces.

That said, if he really does think getting a teen girl to fuck him will cure his problems he's even stupider than he sounds. and the only way he will ever get a teen pregnant is if he gets eggmorphed by a xenomorph and the resulting facehugger happens to latch on to some 16 year old. Newt better watch out. On the plus side the resulting alien would probably be morbidly obese, waddle like a penguin and be too lazy as fuck to attack anybody. Lucas only has one way out of his current situation - to go full euguene tooms and make himself a nest on his apartment wall made of shredded newspaper and telomerase and hibernate in that for a few decades until everyone that knows how much of a creep he is is long dead, before coming out to stalk the streets of spokane again

EDIT: also come to think of it, with him mixing all those different drinks and getting wasted he better watch out, after all if he gets sick as fuck hes got no toilet of his own so it could easily be occupied when he needs to puke, or he could get stupid and puke all over the toilet and floor and cause a big scene the next day when people need to use it. Then again knowing him he'd puke in the sink and not clean it up for a week or two

Anyways this has caused me to be down at the Riverfront Mall where the theater is quite a bit, a place Lucas periodically haunts.

Now I understand his whole "greybeards" with young women sightings. Indeed, one does see often older men with grey in their beards and/or hair with women in their teens or very early twenties.
