I think it's fascinating to see the "member since" date. From 2005 until 2020, he was allowed on FurAffinity. Then because of something stupid he did 6-7 years ago, he has to be banned from FurAffinity for off site activity. This is one of the reasons why the fucktards who take part in canceling people have so much power, and that's not counting their cult like tactics that resemble Scientology's disconnection and SP policies. In the 2000s and early 2010s you had to commit an offense on a specific site to get banned from it, but now you can get banned from multiple sites at once because you pissed off someone on another site or did something stupid over half a decade ago.Amazing that sulacoyote is now suspended/banned on Furaffinity for basically doing nothing. Dogmongling fucks like Java and pedos like Growly were treated with much less malice.

It's also why getting banned from websites tends to ruin their life. They get internet fame and clout from posting on a message board or uploading videos to YouTube. None of them seem to realize that the second they are banned they lose everything and have to rebuild.I'm pretty sure social media is the reason why Gen Z has such sky-high rates of mental illnesses. Constantly living in a mob mentality isn't healthy. Tying your self-worth to internet points isn't healthy either.
Furry Twitter just seems to be a particularly egregious example.
This is a good post. Something worth adding to this is the whole escapism angle of the fandom. Furries don't see their fursonas as simply a cute character they use for icons like say a YouTuber might. They see their fursonas as their true identity and representation of themselves. Their fursona is who they really want to be in real life, which leads to furries throwing a shitfit and having their friends downvote negative comments critiquing their fursona. Criticizing someone's fursona is illegal in the furry fandom as it means you're a furry hater. This mentality exists in troons too, just look at the rise of Picrew, bitmoji, and drawn icons of their ideal selves among that crowd. It's also why art theft done by kids unintentionally turns into a trolling tactic, furries get super offended whenever someone roleplays as their fursona because it's literally impersonating them.Dropping out of lurking this thread for a while to add my two cents to this cause it perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with social media and how it's fucking everyone's brains up.
I have some furry friends, most of them are nearly intolerable and I occasionally consider formulating a plan to mix my more normie friends in with them just to see what happens because I'm a psychopath. Anyways, if you're exposed to twitter or leftyfurs for more than five minutes you'll encounter the phrase "You're/that's valid" and I can't even begin to describe how soulless it sounds every single time.
Look, I get it. It's nice to have outsider validation once in a while. However, this seems to be the only thing these socially starved losers are capable of processing any more. I chalk this down to social media, and I'm sure there are endless numbers of studies out there saying this exact thing; too much social media usage causes your brain to rewire itself in favor of the dopamine shot from getting likes/retweets on your posts. For furries, this has come to a head in the fact that most of the dumb fuckers never leave their houses or socialize with anyone other than furries and this has caused a complete breakdown of their self esteem. From my observation, it's as if these social media addicts have completely discarded any self-worth or any self-confidence in favor of outsider validation. Has it eroded over time? Possibly. I don't think they've done this on purpose. But, again, if you hang out with any of these people for any amount of time, it's so obvious that the ones constantly saying "that's valid" or "you're valid" are doormats or soy'd out of their minds.
It's kind of depressing to witness people with absolutely no sense of self, constantly needing validation from other, equally vapid losers to affirm that yes, you can like beef corn chips, that's valid!!! I genuinely cannot imagine having so little of a spine that I can't have my own opinions, make my own choices, or enjoy certain things without having Michael Man Tits responding "That's vawid uwu" in a shitty falsetto voice. This is the life these people lead. They have absolutely no self confidence.
Again, I propose the cause of this is social media and their already nonexistent meatspace social lives. That rewiring of the brain around dopamine from likes, RTs and interactions combined with the almost guaranteed cocktail of depression and anxiety has bred a subset of people who can only act, think, or feel if someone else tells them it's okay to do so. They are so homogenized as a group that they can only act in a group. I feel like this is why the clout chasers push cancelling so much. Numbers go big, that mean people like me. Me hero for telling world about badguy. Me so important and big now. They have the social experience of a slug in a salt maze, anything they do that isn't considered "correct" is an immediate burn and will cause a self imposed backlash. If they aren't valid, they aren't a person anymore, that fucking kills them.
Just look at how many of them e-beg and try to capitalize on their cancelling. It's all a scam ultimately. A desperate plea for attention that just happens to have another person's entire livelihood, family, career and god knows what else in the line of fire. The furry twitter mob is full of useless, socially void brainlets who can only think, enjoy or talk about things if they're deemed kosher by another brainlet. This is their only contact with the world, and their contact can be shaped entirely by the numbers their posts get, or if someone other than themselves considers it valid or deems it worthy of being experienced.
Transtrending comfortably makes its way into this too, which is why you see so many furry troons. Trooning out lets you put the trans flag in your name, and people (read: other tard furries) will follow you on principle to support the stwuggling twans peopwe uwu. See how that can so easily seem like a good idea to someone who only experiences any sense of presence in the world from outsider validation? It's also an easy way to claim a ton of "benefits" like being able to have signal boosted e-beg posts because of troon issues and people handmaidening to troons to prove they're Definitely A Good Person™ . The numbers economy here on furry twitter is fairly easy to understand, but a hard game to play right. If you're too obvious with your clout chasing then you'll be the target of the next callout. You are Not Valid. You have Violated Kosher. Validity giveth, and validity taketh away.
Dear reader know that, if you have any shred of self confidence, self motivation, self worth, or really any semblance of personality that comes from yourself and not someone else, you are living a more fulfilling life than these tards. Their entire sense of worth is determined by numbers on a post they make that's cast into a void of losers and failures. Their brains have been subtly rewired through constant contact with the concept of numeric validation on their opinions that this is now their only avenue of self worth. If the numbers are low or nonexistent? Guess nobody cares about you today, better make some noise or post some Content™ or a Take™ on the latest outrage that has absolutely nothing worth being actually outraged over to any normal person. That'll get the numbers rolling and the dopamine flowing.
Imagine living like that. Imagine being that much of a loser.
Anyway, back to lurking.

Also the comments on his page are what you'd expect from an open and accepting fandom.

Of course as Chew Fox showed, merely appearing on a TV show and wearing a shirt mocking Neer at a con for your first ban can get you permabanned from FurAffinity so FurAffinity was ahead of the curve. They were banning you for off site activity before it was cool.

To add to this, I've known a few personal lolcows (and many on social media) who will throw fits whenever they don't get that validation they crave on social media. When it happens at a small scale they'll usually sic their friends and Twitter followers on the target, but when it happens at a large scale they'll go on lockdown shouting "muh mentions" because they can't handle getting made fun of on social media. If the person is trans, expect them to add in that you're making fun of them for being trans even if this wasn't mentioned whatsoever. Unsurprisingly these same furries also use group chats as group therapy, and calling each other valid is a telltale sign of this behavior in action.

And they gladly bash war veterans. They harbour criminals, unrepentant degenerates, lowest Goyim of the Earth and ban a man who made a step towards Hashem.
These are the beasts that crawl upon the dirt with their bellies.
And they gladly bash war veterans.
From one of my contacts: "This is the exact shit they did to me, and I didn't have nearly the same reach + I've always been a conservative libertarian good boi. Now, I'd love to see these exceptional 'tards burn. Wonder if it's more about hating Christians. :thonking:"Jesus Christ almighty. Screeds like this make it clear to every bystander that this outrage culture shit is not about upholding any semblance of justice — individual, social, or otherwise. It’s not about punching up, it’s simply about punching. It’s about harming people for fun.
Earlier I compared this exceptionalism to Lord of the Flies. That metaphor rings stronger than ever, because Lord of the Flies was about a bunch of literal children who try to form an insular society based around having fun and turn into a bunch of insane cannibals who destroy everything around them.
This inherently describes how Karl Marx wanted people to be, all the same brainless who think in all the same way, hence why they are so easy to manipulate.Dropping out of lurking this thread for a while to add my two cents to this cause it perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with social media and how it's fucking everyone's brains up.

THE language they use in this article is inherintly deisnged to reel in dumb normies.Hello lurkers, take a look at this article totally about women's health: https://www.womenshealthmag.com/sex...5hN_9EXnzUq1wJ15VuJ4ccvRAjVXzkYiOuSx94Ieb-71o

The arguments proposed here are basically a rejection of absolutionist arguments who nobody really makes when discussing furries. For example: the article claims that only a small percentage of furries have a fursuit for sexual purposes ("Murrsuit") and that's fair enough, however, the claim of a detractor is that, such a phenomenon is only present in the furry fandom but not anywhere else.
Also pay attention at the language of the article, "we aren't that different" kind of shit, who its only actual purpose is to fool normies who know no better
Something something stare into the abyss too long, the abyss stares back at you.Seriously though, there’s a whole series of pathologies to study here. Why isn’t anyone doing that?
You make an excellent point, However I think there is a pretty good cross section of internet culture as a whole. Its not just furries its otherkin and all the various other attention seeking nutjobs out there, Christ the earliest/ most famous case of this behaviour is the "final fantasy house" and if you know anything about that then you know that trying to live out your internet fantasy IRL goes pretty fucking badly. You know, if the FurScience project wasn’t a scam and staffed by furfag fuckwits, they could actually do some good work studying the causes, effects and impact of all of this on the furries themselves. Having all of ones identity, self esteem, ego and personality tied up in fantasy ephemera and bullshit social networking can’t be good for people in the long run.
... but since Furscience IS just a scam and just furries with science degrees just trying to justify their poor lifestyle choice, it’s not gonna happen.
Seriously though, there’s a whole series of pathologies to study here. Why isn’t anyone doing that?
There's arguably examples of crazy internet behavior within fandoms before the Final Fantasy House, such as Dennis Falk's Tiny Toons stalking incident. But the Final Fantasy House proves another point. It's that behavior that used to be seen as over the top back in the day has become normalized in a way. When I first read the Final Fantasy House story a few years ago it was the funniest shit because it was such a trashfire. Now the house has gained a reputation as a internet legend, yet the same things that went on in that house tend to happen in other "nerd" houses.Christ the earliest/ most famous case of this behaviour is the "final fantasy house" and if you know anything about that then you know that trying to live out your internet fantasy IRL goes pretty fucking badly.
