That's one of the puzzles to me. What did Monica stand to lose with Vic becoming a director? Vic thought of her as one of his closest friends. If anything, she'd probably have gotten more roles if he was directing. She clearly didn't have much of a problem pretending to be a friend for a decade with him so why wasn't she able to suck it up for the sake of potentially making more money?

I imagine it would have started out without much change, but once Vic realized what a cess pool Funimation was, he probably would have tried to find ways to change it. This battle was likely inevitable - the defendants just didn't waste any time launching their offensive.

Maybe Sabat was the one with the real motive - I could see him thinking he stood to lose something. Vic has star power, outstripped Sabat and Schemmel with Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Maybe he couldn't handle the idea of Vic moving into a permanent position of power, because that would be someone with power willing to stand up to him. What if Sabat manipulated Monica into taking that plunge - destroying Vic's career so publicly - promising to jump with her ... then just watched as she fell off a cliff? All of these assholes have seem to have some sort of personality disorder. It'd probably be fairly easy to manipulate her, especially if you're her "close friend" and "anime husband" ...

I think it's very likely that Sabat may have been the instigator of this whole stupid saga. Of all the names, he is the one who stood to lose the most with Vic being a greater presence in Funimation. What makes it all the more special is that he may have played himself so hard that Vic winning is now the best possible outcome. If Vic's appeal fails, nothing's going to stop Monica and Jamie from turning on Sabat and he knows it. After all, why be kept subservient to Sabat who more or less left them hanging throughout this whole ordeal? But unlike Vic, they won't have to make up a bunch of stories of sexual harassment and professional misconduct to get him. Sabat's dirty laundry has been floating around for years and just waiting for someone to really come after him about it.

I think it is top down, if Sabat loses, they all lose and carry out this debacle was in their best interest. From what layers have been pulled back of these horrible degenerates, you can see they will stab you in the back through your face if it preserves them. They have shit on each other comparable to a firing squad pointing their guns in and no one pulls the trigger. That is how I see their relationship of sorts. They thought, this was going to be over quick, that Vic would off himself and did not see the long-game of it going to court...that was not anticipated, I am pretty certain of that. I think if the appeal fails, it just goes back to normal and Sabat slides cash under the table to Monica, Jamie. If it doesn't, you know that firing squad...they are gonna start shooting.

There was a preview for it when he directed Zodiac Wars back in late 2017. Ironically he cast Daman Mills in the lead role and Monica Rial in a fairly significant secondary role.

To date that's the only show he's directed start to finish.
