Now imagine that him and his identically worthless henchmen were just as authoritarian, freedom hating, and corrupt as the #hashtagresistance tier media accuses him and his underlings of being....

Imagine if they were completely correct on every single accusation and you have an idea of what the leadership of china is like.

Maybe not all of it, but by and large the number of upjumped hicks, obsequious bootlickers, and far, far worse who are the only ones ruthless and callous and cynical enough to rise to the top of the CCP led society and economy and thus its politics is almost certainly in the clear majority.

They get to treat those who actually labour for a living in the fields, those who actually try and do technical work in the industries, those who attempt actual scientific research in important fields as disposable and worthless trash at best, and dangerous potential hazards to their comfortable positions at worst who need to be taken out back and silenced the moment they step out of line.

This is why that country, for all the economic might its mass semi-slave labour has helped create, is such a toxic shithole, both figuratively and literally

But the likelihood of an untrained individual being able to successfully maintain, use, and decontaminate a P100 mask (much less clothes tbh) in a biological environment is so stacked against them, that the purchase of the mask is a waste of time. In some event that the virus becomes as prevalent in the west as it is in China, your best bet will be spending your money on dry staples that you can eat instead. Spend it on ensuring an adequate water supply. Unless you have some extremely pressing manner that forces you out of your home, you absolutely should not be running into a situation where you should need a mask in the first place.

You must have these masks fitted to you. They are not one-size-fits-all. Do you know when during the decon procedure you should be doffing your mask? Do you know the manufacturer's recommended chemicals for decon? Do you know how to store your mask? Do the goggles you purchased fit well with your mask? Where will you be decontaminating yourself at? Are you decontaminating yourself without assistance? Do you understand how difficult that is without help? How will you wash contaminated clothing? What guarantee do you have that you will be 100% sure each expedition outside won't track contaminants into your 'clean' area? Does the manufacturer even recommend the filter you purchased for biological contaminants? The mask?

If you absolutely must buy masks, buy disposable N95 masks if at all possible. I am always a bit suspicious whenever the CDC or any other government agency warns us not to buy something in bulk - after all they're going to need them - but I'm pretty in line with their guidance about masks. All this being said, I don't think this virus is going to run through the west quite like it is in China. Only until a cluster really starts to grow in the US or another western nation (say several hundred or thousand getting sick within a week in a major city) would I begin to seriously worry. At this time, my best recommendation is to focus on securing dry goods to allow you to stay home. Beans and rice.

- Regarding fitted Respirator Masks. While not it isn’t one size fits all, it’s use the size appropriate for you and your face. Small, Medium or Large. Most people are capable of easily making that selection. The key thing is the mask has a flexible double seal around where it touches the face. In a correct fitting mask, this seal will be maintained with no gaps. The straps must be adjusted snug enough to insure that seal is maintained.

- N95’s are estimated to provide 80-90% protection. So they are much better than nothing. And with added protections such as frequent hand washing and eye shields you should be fine.

- From everything we have seen you don’t need environmentally sealed fitted goggles. You just need what amounts to sneeze, splash, droplet protection for your eyes. The common medical eye shields is a simple Mylar sheet. The big thing is to discourage you rubbing or touching your eyes and face. Your hands will come in far more contact with Corona-Chan than your face will.

- Your biggest and best defense will be personal space. So far pretty much all the reported cases origininating outside of China indicate fairly close contact to transmit Corona-Chan. Spending time in enclosed spaces with an infected person, or directly caring for them. Or those wonderful sealed environment pathogen labs, Cruise Ships. Remarkably to date I do not believe we have seen any cases transmitted from simply being on an airplane with an infected subject. Which is interesting for its absence so far.

It's also used in landfills. The way they're lining it (with the bottom covering the fold of the sides) shows it's to prevent groundwater leakage. If it's not a mass grave then it's for disposing of contaminated objects as a biohazard.

Way outside my scope. My gut says it probably is a lab breach. It was probably a research specimen of some type and not a specifically engineered weapon. My normal sunny and optimistic take on human nature and in particular Chinese behavior patterns makes me strongly suspect that somebody at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was making some extra Holiday money by selling surplus and surviving research animals to the local Meat Market. That seems to be the disturbingly common pattern that we saw in some prior incidents involving SARS and a Level 4 lab near Beijing awhile back. It's also speculated that a similar breach is what is killing off China's Pig population.

Purchasing and using respirators that you do not know how to use is at best a waste of your money and at worst an easy way of bringing infectious materials into your home. One of the major issues out of China is the sincere lack of medical staff having any sort of understanding of HAZMAT. Those that do are being over-worked and making simple mistakes: like anything, if you do it long enough, you're eventually going to mess up. If you think Joe Schmo is going to be able to visit his local grocery while wearing his P100 mask he bought from Lowes and not infect himself or his family back home, you're being exceptionally naïve.

Pretending there isn't a reason why healthcare institutions require their workers to be fitted for N95 masks is dumb. If you don't know what you're doing, and if (big if) nCoV-2019 becomes a pandemic in the US, just stay home. You won't get sick and won't get your family members sick. nCoV-2019 is not overly fatal and methyl-ethyl-badshit leaking from a train car it is not, but bringing it home to grandpa with COPD is autistic.

I wouldnt say its that stacked against them. It is stacked against anyone who buys the stuff, thinks thats all there is to it and doesnt actively go out a get the information they need to use it. Its like not reading the safety data sheets when working with chemicals. Your asking for it. You might not get it but your asking for it.

The 3m"s come in three sizes S/M/L. I doubt you'll see a small on a shelf at most stores. Medium will fit most people. Some companies have size testing kits but outside some harsh environment workplaces or medical you wont see them. So you'll have to test it yourself to see if it seals on your face, your cleanly shaven face. Facial hair is bad.

As for the recommended decon chems its in the 3M data sheets but I've used 70% alcohol on ones at work for wipe downs. Over time, we are talking years, it will wear on the plastic/rubber parts. If I'm breaking it down for a cleaning then a bleach solution dip and hang drying is what I'm planing. Bag the filters when not in use.

The other stuff you'll run into with the N95 also. Eye protection fitting right, decon procedure and order. I will say this. People who live in apartments and houses with wall to wall carpet at all entrance points should get rolls of plastic sheet for the floors by them, about all you can do.

There are P100s disposables and to be honest people might have a better chance coming across them. Asians seem to have a hard on for the N95 and dont even blink at the 100s. I agree about beans, rice and staying home part being the main thing though. Social distance and not having to go into a possible hot zone is the best defense.

Alright. This is now getting closer to one of my fields of expertise. Before the term "forensic cleaning" became a thang, I did it. It was part of a Lucrative business I used to do. I'm thinking the Virus may have far better persistence in the environment than anyone is admitting. But even then, WTF are they doing. Has anyone ever seen trucks like that? And if so what is their normal use? Just watching the spray pattern from the trucks I can't fathom what it is they are trying to do, beyond "disinfect the street behind them"? The mist isn't going up or spreading outwards, so it's meant to dissinfect surfaces? If so they would be better with a more traditional sprinkler system? Hosing down surfaces with disinfectant.

Maybe they are spraying Medical Marijuana into the city to mellow out the populace? It makes as much sense as anything else they are doing.

As for the other thing... wow! They are digging a deep pit... in the quarantine zone... Can anybody come up with a reason for that that doesn't end in "Mass Grave"? Because I've got nuthin'!
