I'm not sure where else to put this, but Aaron Zelinsky--the top prosecutor for the Mueller investigation's case against Roger Stone just resigned from the case--and it sounds like Jonathan Kravis might have just bailed out, too, and is resigning from the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office. They're all starting to hop off the ship.

I expect a lot of 'resignations' this year. With Trump having been acquitted and all the major ammo of the Democrats spent, Trump now has a list of people who helped them and the ability to put a lot of pressure on them to quit.
By shooting their load too soon, the Dems have absolutely assured that Trump can now cleanse his administration. Talk about backfiring.

In other words, they lied to their superiours about what they were going to recommend, and when they turned their backs they tried to slam Stone with every book on the shelf, rather than the lighter sentence they'd said they were going to use.

Whether or not I'm right, I have no idea, but it's really fucking weird to see all four of them hit the deck so hard that they made dents in the floor. They didn't even attempt to rationalize the sentence they handed down, they just dove over the fucking side of the ship and one of them flat-out quit his job entirely.

This just follows a well known pattern of events. Kick out the old guys, the new ones come in and make it clear that the old guys did a shit job. It effectively defangs anyone ousted out of the administration since any attempt to say "I was kicked out for political reasons" is countered with "You also did a shit job".

This is what was done and IS done to Comey, and he was rather publicly thrown on his ass.
