Scandinavian Airlines "What is truly Scandinavian?" commercial pisses off everybody

Not quite a news article, but something interesting I found. A recent advertisement by Scandinavian Airlines, produced by Swedish advertising agencies &Co and funded by The North Alliance, has decided the best way to incite tourist interest in Scandinavia is to assert nothing about the region is unique nor interesting whatsoever. It does this in the usual ways, such as undermining all alleged Scandinavian culture (did you know the danish is not Danish, but Austrian?) and having a silly-looking nigger brag about his alleged 'viking ancestry.'

The comments section is was densely packed with westerners, not just Scandinavians, who reckon this was a stupid idea.

SAS is a Scandinavian airline that brings travelers to, from an within Scandinavia. We stand by the core message in the commercial, that travel enriches us.
When we travel, we influence our surroundings and we are influenced by others. The experiences we bring back from our travels inspire us as individuals, but also our society.

When analyzing the pattern and volume of reactions we have reason to suspect an online attack and that the campaign has been hijacked. We do not want to risk being a platform for views that we do not share. We have therefore temporarily removed the film from our channels and we are currently evaluating the next step.

Well The Guard started with Rus, and the most men were Anglo Saxons(the flow of Norse Warriors stopped after they conquered England and parts of Italy).
But thats not realy important since Norse and (Anglo-)Saxons are very closely related and not even history professors could tell them apart if they met them.

Beanie man uses r/videos as proof that its not just the fine diverse crowd at /pol/ that doesn't think this ad is foolish. Also I did not watch the ad at all, the screenshot of the nigger saying I am a viking was enough for me.

Also I want to add in from personal experience living in middle east, any Arab that would view themselves as European is viewed as a no better than a atheist traitor. This is also applies to pakis, turks and pajeets as well. I assume it is the same for other minority groups, none of them feel like this.

Sadly a lot of it is top down. A lot of it comes from the banking industry: many banking firms are requiring diversity, equity, and inclusion plans and climate change plans if you want to do business with them. Want a quick loan to cover payroll expenses? You as the CEO better sob about not having enough women and blacks in your board room.

Many are stuffing executive ranks with women and minorities. A lot of the critical gigs still go to white guys but a lot of white guys are fucked from getting ahead because Bank of America cares about how many niggers there are in middle management for some reason.

I'm surprised it's still up. I'm always amazed at companies that do this - disable comments yet keep the likes / dislikes. I honestly wonder if a lot of people aren't even aware you can hide that as well. Everyone knows you can turn off comments but maybe a lot of people don't even bother to look past that in the options. But I've seen this with other companies, where they fuck up so they hide comments but keep the likes / dislikes with the massive dislike amount.

I don't know, a bunch of armed men traveling around to steal anything not nailed down and rape anyone who doesn't run fast enough because they're squatting in earthen huts and unable to invent anything beyond new methods to be thieves sounds a lot like a certain group of people if you really think about it.

Either way this is the most Swedish video I've ever seen. I don't think there's a single nation that can out-do the Swedes when it comes to irritating and pointless virtue signals.

Also, their language is some crazy shit. Be thankful they speak English like every civilized people in this world.

Yes and no. Finnish feminist do try but don't get taken that seriously. Finnish culture has been pretty equaliterian for long time so they have pretty little leg to stand on. We have had female prime ministers, a female president and our best known author was a bi woman. Girls and boys get treaded pretty much same, everyone is expected to take part in running a household and so on. This is something that many people have proud for long time and complaining isn't considered cool, so feminist aren't that big. There are some pretty loud ones in Helsinki and art circles but generally they aren't that powerful.

What we otherhand have real issues with are the eco nuts. These overlap with feminist but aren't exactly the same. Finns love our nature so these people do actually get audience and they are often really dumb and exactly same big city elite as in other western countries. Sure they make some good points but treat our tiny quite empty country like it's fucking New York city. They want us do stuff that would kill or at least severely hurt many industries and make many parts of Finland financially and/or practically inhabitable. Outside of large cities public transportation isn't viable and we do need to do stuff like warm our houses. There are so many adds against meat and using less of well pretty much everthing despite Finnish culture never being big on showing off wealth or having stuff you don't need. These idiots want us make expensive sacrifices to number one eco scale like our pollution make slip of difference in world scale.

Unfortunatly these people do get attention because reasonable green values have been big for long time. We really do love our nature and have had many successful projects around it like saving endangered species and cleaning up places. So both politicians and industrial side see selling opportunities with anything that gets branded environmentally friendly so these people get their way fairly easily and at the same time get talk abou their other intrests like gay stuff or feminist art instalations.

Huh, nice and more nuanced than I thought it'd be. Would actually like to pay a visit if I ever actually have the time or money for a trip to the other side of the world. Never been in a snowy climate, though. Not that I'd ever go anywhere with snow during the winter, like a tard, however.
