Scandinavian Airlines "What is truly Scandinavian?" commercial pisses off everybody

Not quite a news article, but something interesting I found. A recent advertisement by Scandinavian Airlines, produced by Swedish advertising agencies &Co and funded by The North Alliance, has decided the best way to incite tourist interest in Scandinavia is to assert nothing about the region is unique nor interesting whatsoever. (Archive link here. disregard i am stupid & gay video is presently on Twitter forget it, just watch it here.) It does this in the usual ways, such as undermining all alleged Scandinavian culture (did you know the danish is not Danish, but Austrian?) and having a silly-looking nigger brag about his alleged 'viking ancestry.'

The comments section is was densely packed with westerners, not just Scandinavians, who reckon this was a stupid idea.

The video is a day old, so there's no telling how long all this gold (or the comical like-dislike ratio) will remain visible. If this sort of thing amuses you, I'd have a look now. They deleted everything. Courtesy of @Venom_X you can video a mirror in this very thread.

SAS is a Scandinavian airline that brings travelers to, from an within Scandinavia. We stand by the core message in the commercial, that travel enriches us.
When we travel, we influence our surroundings and we are influenced by others. The experiences we bring back from our travels inspire us as individuals, but also our society.

When analyzing the pattern and volume of reactions we have reason to suspect an online attack and that the campaign has been hijacked. We do not want to risk being a platform for views that we do not share. We have therefore temporarily removed the film from our channels and we are currently evaluating the next step.

In European countries is being unpatriotic common in the average citizen? A few of my European friends like to poke jabs at stuff like the Pledge of Alliegance or American-flag themed clothes and merch but I can't tell since it could be TDS.
I really wonder since this shit from an American POV looks so cuckolded. Although that has been said a lot already.

Can any EuroKiwis answer?
Pretty much everything to the south and east of the Alps is pretty nationalistic in the classical sense. They have their share of left wing parties, but as a rule the people are very openly proud of their countries.

Germany is notoriously fearful of anything approaching patriotism, but the rise of AfD seems to be putting a few dents in that, in spite of heavy handed repression by Merkel and friends.

The French in general are a strange case because of their 'muh republique'. They're pretty much radical civnats who disregard things like race and culture, insisting that anybody with citizenship and a command of the language is as French as can be. This has really started to bite them in the ass now that the radical Islamists they've ignored are now festering badly.

Belgium and other non-countries obviously aren't patriotic at all: the constituent nations are, with the exception of the Eternal Frenchman, who has imported Congolese and Moroccans en masse because they nominally speak French and thought they would become a loyal voting block.

Spain is fairly similar to Belgium. A lot of nationalism is concentrated in the various regional identities that want to GTFO. A lot of actual 'Spanish' nationalism is found in areas that couldn't go it alone if they tried.

Sweden is self-explanatory, but there seems to be a vocal minority that opposes its bullshit. The other Scandiwegian countries seem more reasonable. Finngolia is based.

Someone already accurately described the Netherlands. Patriotism is fairly low-key here. Stereotypically American 'MUH EAGLES, USA USA USA *drapes flags on errything*' is generally frowned upon, but it definitely exists as well. People accept that our country (and government especially) aren't infallible. At the same time, there is a general understanding that our values, history and culture are good things and nothing to be ashamed of, and will actively call out practices and customs they consider to be barbaric and inferior.

Britain is a fucking mess but I wish them all the best.

I used to buy a lot of those fashion magazines (don't judge me) and it's funny they're trying to be woke know when they've alwasy had diverse models for the covers. I've seen black women a few times, and never paid more attention that I should. Some were pretty, some other weren't, just like with the white models. I remember saying a few of them, white models, and thinking "boy, this girl is ugly".

I wouldn't have any issue with them putting a black woman on the cover and saying "ITALIAN MODEL WHATEVER" because fuck it, I get the point. She can be Italian too. Sure, whatever. But "Italian Beauty" has a different context, implying "THIS IS ITALY". It's such a nuanced context that I understand why people get mad at it.

I worry though about where this could lead in the long run. Could we eventually see the start of a whole new kind of Slave trade? Where blacks are taken from Africa, not for labor purposes, but in order to be treated as some form of fashion?

Are blacks going to become the next fashionable purse?
