Advice for Bex:

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something very incel about this post. It’s strangely awkward, like he’s too horny not to comment but also desperate not to sound horny. He wrote, “That is a surprisingly well-coordinated tattoo/lingerie combo” but actually said “holy shit you can totally see her nipples fapfapfapfap”
Oh Jake. Firstly, Mami did not say that, the clue being that nobody talks like that. Secondly, Becky is a grown, married woman whose parents still pay for her. She’s not being abused and she could cut her mother off at any time. She’s just a hate-filled human turd.

Yeah, it's like he said to himself " what can I mention so she doesn't think I'm looking at her boobs?"

Oh yeah, her tattoos match her underwear! (Like that makes any sense)

In avoiding mention of the obvious titillation (thank you) of the picture, he shows us all just how focused on titties he is.

Methinks he doth protest too much, kind of thing.

Let's Learn Gnomish
Lesson 7: All Eyes On Me

Loneliness is the natural condition of Gnomo sapiens. But even the lowliest life forms have certain adaptations to their environments. Let's take a look at attention-grabbing strategies employed over a 6-year observation period by one subject.

Replies
The most direct form of attention is, of course, the reply. How often does our test subject get a reply?
Twitter's "reply tracking" is somewhat loose, but out of 58332 original tweets, 6225 got more than one reply, or 10.6%. (One-reply tweets are usually Jake replying to himself to continue a thread - we lose a few genuine replies by omitting these, but surely not many.)
But is there a way to increase engagement? We drilled down to the most replied-to tweets: those with 10+ replies, of which there were only 93 (that is, 0.15% of his output!)
The high-engagement content fell into four major categories.

ContentHot Tweets
Bait
34
Drama
23
Bogeymen
15
Other
11
Trans
10

Bait: Any content relating to Jake's impending suicide, impending homelessness, being "not OK", and so on. A few whines that were too vague or not urgent enough to count got classified as "other".
Drama: Inserting himself into drama relating to one specific person (CHELSAY, Soha, William Shatner, Vic Mignogna, etc)
Bogeymen: Any content relating to Jake's nebulous cloud of enemies: Gamergate, alt-right, Nazis, bigots, or similar.
Trans: Anything relating to what it's (supposedly) like to be trans, trans activism, pronouns, or what-have-you.

Likes and Retweets
We considered these in aggregate because there's a fair amount of overlap between the most-liked and most-retweeted posts.
The 99th percentile for total likes and retweets is a whopping 20.
For our analysis, we tagged the top 100 liked+retweeted posts, and came up with:

ContentHot Tweets
Bogeymen
42
Drama
30
Trans
30
Other
10
Politics
8
Bait
1

Note the appearance of a new category, "Politics". There were enough of these (mostly relating to Chelsea Manning) to split off into a category.
We allowed multiple tags for this run ("Trans" plus "Drama" being a common pairing) so the total here adds up to more than 100.

Top Draws
So what were the biggest attention-getters of all time?
For replies, an anti-Vic Mignogna post had the most at 169, then his dust-up with William Shatner with 77. Tied for third are a post about "Bigots don't want to debate", and his most successful suicide bait ever (10/31/2019)
For likes+retweets, "Bigots don't want to debate" takes the prize by far with 8671. Rounding out the top five are posts about Minecraft, puberty blockers, that troon who beat up an old lady, and Chelsea Manning.
EDIT: Incidentally, the Shatner post is the one and only time Jake got "ratioed" - the vast majority of the time he gets so few replies that it's impossible.

Flops
14457 posts, or about 24.7% of his output, got absolutely no engagement - not a single like or retweet. An additional 9420 got only one. In total, 40.9% of the time Jake is talking to no one, or at most bending the ear of just one person, thereby utterly failing at the "social" aspect of social media.

Conclusions
So: What do you do if you're Gnome Alone? The data speaks loud and clear: threaten suicide if you want to get replies, write about internet bogeymen (or pick high-profile fights) if you just want attention. Excelsior!

Or as the master himself put it:

Not really difficult to imagine why, even with no knowledge of Violet.. Lets face it - People going through isolation and drama tend to be difficult characters going through difficult times with conflicts that most people don't want to get involved with or sucked into. Whereas the lid thing is not only fun, it has the macho aspect of people who only vaguely follow Violet and imagine her being cute, role playing as the person helping her with the lid (who knows - she may DM an invite to help her with lids for real!)

It's almost as if twitter is not supposed to be a goddamn mental health support network or something

This is what happens when you’ve never had any IRL friends in your life.

It’s this conflicting issue in Jake’s life. On the one hand, he wants to live this fake life on Twitter. On the other, he wants his Twitter friendships to be as deep as real ones. He wants people who think he’s this beautiful woman with a life full of trauma to solve the problems of a terminal NEET.

Jake’s too needy and paranoid for anyone to want to be friends with him. He’s had internet friends attempt to befriend him in real life and he drove them away. He’s in a hell of his own making.
But imagine putting up the noise making machine and how if you go a week without talking to him, he’s making suicide threats. Who wants that?
