If that was china, the petition would have been online for five minutes then the people responsible for it and the few that signed would get a nice friendly government visit and a free trip to camp.

Related: anyone know any good sources for learning about the Korean death cult? I'm always a slut for learning about cults.

To the /pol related posts: I call possibility on some of what it said, but bullshit however on a lot of it.
If we all started from a level playing field in terms of the virus being released and has been slowly chipping away at people in China and Iran for months, even people having less ACE2 receptors in other countries doesn't make sense here. Some people traveled to and from China or had visitors from China and tested positive not too long after(initial German male case and coworkers), as well as others who showed infection after discernible connection to verified contacts. The build up theory also does not support the fact that elderly and sickly everywhere would be showing signs earlier and concurrently with each other. Also, not everyone has had a cytokine storm, although I would like more information as to how long the body holds onto the virus after recovery.

Goats are a pain and cheeky, chickens are easier. It you do need to secure their food from vermin and they themselves can be a source of disease. I wouldn’t do it unless I had space and time to keep them clean. Friends a little further out from us have chickens and they are a fair amount of work. If you have space, a secure shed for them at night and don’t mind cleaning chickenshit off everything go for it. They will eat the pests on your veg garden.

With chicken or any livestock you have a daily commitment - no going on holiday, you cannot leave them for days while you go party or fuck off to a city for a weekend. Also you need to pay to give them appropriate vet care and go in and clean up their shit every day, clean their water bowls and bedding and feed them and check up on them in various ways daily - they need and deserve proper clean conditions otherwise you can end up as another sink for disease too. Poor animal husbandry is at the root of all these shit diseases that come out of China. Don't fuck abut playing at farmer. It's a lot more work than you think and for very little point when you can go buy free range eggs at the supermarket or from a local farmer who probably needs the income.

The other issue is with chickens you HAVE to have a secure shed for them to roost overnight. Every single wild predator will be after them and they will all be taken in very short order by foxes or whatever else you have lurking around if you do not have a secure chicken shed and a secure compound for them to scratch about in during the day. Foxes if they get into the coop or compound (and they will try, nothing more delicious than chicken - they cannot fly so easy prey and easier because you contained them) wll kill everything in it due to their instinct to snap at moving targets. Foxes will dig under a fence to get at them and break into any henhouse that isn't secure. Your fences need to be strong and deep enough for the foxes not to find it worth digging under. Any break or weakness in the fencing or housing will be exploited.

Known plenty of people who tried the urban chicken/duck romantic 'let's have our own egg supply' thing and woke up to a total bloodbath and also resented the fact they had yet more chores to do in a day looking after them. I knew some idiot who had some small ducks and they all got taken by owls the third night she had them because they didn[t realise they need a roofed, secure house at night too. Either you do it properly or don't do it at all. It's not fair on the animals either if you get them and then fart about doing everything wrong and getting them killed or become one of those annoyances who decides to abnegate their responsibility and dump the animals later.

Illness forces the Pope to cancel an event in Rome a day after showing solidarity with coronavirus sufferers and shaking hands with congregation at weekly audience
  • Pope Francis cancelled an event Thursday due to a 'slight indisposition'
  • Comes a day after he was seen coughing and blowing his nose during Mass
  • Earlier in the day he met crowds where he kissed faces and touched hands
  • Italy is currently in the midst of a coronavirus outbreak, with towns in lockdown
Pope Francis has been forced to cancel a planned Mass in Rome with other clergy after suffering a 'slight illness'.

The Vatican said the 83-year-old pontiff had a 'slight indisposition' that meant he did not attend an event at the St John Lateran basilica in Rome on Thursday morning.

A spokesman said Francis would continue with the rest of his day's business, but preferred to stay within the Vatican rather than travel across the city.

There was no word from the Vatican about the nature of his illness, but the pope was seen coughing and blowing his nose during the Ash Wednesday Mass.

It comes a day after he kissed heads and touched faces as he met with crowds in St Peter's Square, saying he had solidarity with those suffering from coronavirus.

Italy is currently in the grips of a coronavirus outbreak that has seen towns in the north placed on lockdown and travellers from the region spread the infection to previously unaffected areas of Europe.

Rome had three cases, but all three were cured.

Francis had been scheduled to go to the St John Lateran basilica to meet with Rome clergy and celebrate a penitential Mass at the start of Lent.

Francis is bishop of Rome, but delegates the day-to-day running of the archdiocese to a vicar.

The Argentine pope has generally enjoyed good health. He lost part of one lung as a young man because of a respiratory illness, and suffers from sciatica, which makes walking difficult.

Francis has had a busy schedule lately, including his public general audience on Wednesday and the Ash Wednesday service later in the day in a Roman basilica.

Only a few of the 12,000 or so faithful who turned out to see him on Saint Peter's Square were wearing face masks.

But the 83-year-old Francis did not shy away from shaking hands with members of the congregation - and even kissed some of the children present.

Pope Francis is known hugging the faithful or accepting kisses on his cheek or forehead.

However, a year ago he explained his reticence for allowing people to kiss his ring, explaining the practice could spread germs.

In his Ash Wednesday homily marking the beginning of Lent, the pope exhorted the world's 1.3 billion Catholics to 'switch off the television and open the Bible'.

He urged followers to give up trolling people on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook for Lent.

He said there was too much 'verbal violence' in the world which was 'amplified by the internet'.

Francis added that Lent was 'a time to give up useless words, gossip, rumours, tittle-tattle and speak to God on a first name basis.'

It comes as 50 more cases – including eight children – of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Italy, taking the toll past 370. Twelve patients have died.

Almost a dozen towns have been quarantined in the northern part of the country in a desperate attempt to contain the worsening coronavirus crisis.

Cases from Italy have now been confirmed in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Greece and Spain, as well as Algeria and Brazil.

It comes after thousands of British families jetted to Italy during the half-term break from schools last week and Easter holidays are just five weeks away.

More than 82,000 cases of the COVID-19 – the disease caused by the coronavirus – have been recorded across the world, with the death toll nearing 2,800.

Since when do we have to 'show solidarity' with sick people by doing unhygienic shit that risks our own health? Ilness isn' ta cause, it's just an unfortunate biological fact.

Do I have to start shagging AIDS cases to show my love and care for them? How about hugging ebola victims in their beds? FFS. Why does everything have to become a political moment?

-Your holiness, please bless me! I only want to be healthy to serve our Lord!
-Bless you my child.. coof! May you be healthy to.. coof! serve the Lord. *kiss*

We already discussed this in another thread. Maybe you missed it.

Possible cases in sweden, in Uppsala:

Summary: employee of thermo fisher which has a branch here is potentially exposed and all 700 workers were told not to go to work today. Akademiska (the big hospital in town) is testing people.
Unsurprising: it’s a university city and has loads of tech companies which have very international workforces.
Article is also amusing for the slightly snotty tone in which an ‘American accented message’ was used to convey the alarm. How very dare they

Jönköping, Göteborg and now Uppsala yet our politicians say "no it's totally ok, there's no way that these infected people infected anyone els during the time leading up to their quarantine." god i hate our government

Yeah I did. I'm already aware of the push by older HIV+ homosexual men to try to shame young men they want to fuck into not rejecting them though. The motivation is obvious in the 'destigmatize AIDS' case - it's simply the selfish desire for unprotected sex amongst a highly promiscuous subgroup. What the motivation for trying to moralize and push people to infect themselves with a SARS-like virus though ... that's way more twisted. WTF is anyone getting out of that?

They’re just divorced from reality. Like all the ones who don’t vaccinate. They are soft coddled western creatures who have never seen anyone die horribly of disease. They assume that because they have right opinions they themselves are morally pure and nothing bad will happen to them.
They’re about to get a smack from reality.

I don't have time to check it out, I gotta get to work, but The Cult Education Institute has an index where you can look up cults by name with links to pertinent news articles:

Trump came into contact with someone who "had the worst case of the flu he's ever had in his life" a couple of days ago.

So more of Iran's officials got infected.

The VP for women and family affairs.

I'm not sure if it's that health official on TV but it's the one in charge of dealing with the virus telling people to calm down.
