yikes....... if i were any of the other partners i would feel horrible if i saw this
Pretty sure Eevee is the only female-larper dumb enough to legally entangle themselves with Glip, so there are technically no other wives out there to get offended. But yeah, Glip absolutely plays favorites with partners which is a straight shot to drama town. It's fascinating to read about polyamory bullshit just to see how flagrantly Glip violates all the best practices.

It’s even more hilarious when you think about things like the OhJoySexToy comic where she’s sperging about how “If you’re dating a polyamorous person you have nothing to worry about because all partners are equal!”. Even if she is joking, which I’ll dare to venture that she is, Eevee is her only spouse/wife, so really what does Eevee have to be proud of hearing a compliment like that?

Tbh, I keep coming back to this thread hoping that the train-wreck of an apology/Marl “victim” doc nonsense gets posted so we can have a good laugh. I know this thread dies sometimes but it always delivers.

i was in a polyamorous relationship at the time that comic came out, and projected myself onto claude. and honestly i think the comic made me stay in a very unhealthy environment for longer than i normally would, bc i idolized glip and the comic was presented as a kind of 'gospel'. i felt evil when i didnt feel like my partner didnt love us all equally and basically gaslit myself with regards to the feeling.

like i said, a bit of a vague powerlevel, so feel free to delete my post or whatever. but i felt it was relevant to share how much of an effect glip can have on younger people that idolize them, especially with regards to polyamory (which can be healthy but i dont think the way glip perpetuates it fosters a healthy kind of relationship).

so yeah, seeing vee's tweet just ... exemplifies how much of a hierarchy glip [at the very least] insinuates for their relationships within polyamory and it's gross lol

>Literally fusing yourself to someone when they clearly didn't know it would happen.
Getting some rapey non-con vibes from that concept. But it's Melanie drawing this; so no big change.

Of course the first comic to feature a ton of Floraverse Discord self-inserts ends up being filled with charmless, angry assholes that hate each other for petty reasons. Of course this entire comic is going to be about publicly shaming some random scapegoat while the inner circle can do whatever they want without consequences. Positive queer sex, everyone.

At least we probably won't have to see more of this banal garbage for another month, going by PK's current update schedule.

What a brutally honest look into the way their inner circle treats their shy, socially awkward fans. Because, as usual, this is based off real people and their server drama.

The scapescrapgoat being villainized in this comic is a real-life user named Kasran, as Glip helpfully pointed out in the comic notes. Kasran has been a part of Flora for a long time and has financially donated to Flora. Apparently, Glip knew that Kasran had been pining over Ko'pe since at least July 1, 2019, as shown by the way Glip decided to draw the two of them in the 2019 GDQ group picture:

1583089099323.png

With that intro out of the way, let's take a look. What has Kasran done to earn enough ire that they get a whole comic making them out as an awful incel asshole?

1583087574462.png1583087637326.png1583087654723.png1583087718760.png1583089245380.png1583089376375.png1583089422470.png
Translate this into Discord-speak, and this probably means:
  • Kasran would hang out in the same channels Ko'pe did and try to interact with them
  • Kasran would PM Ko'pe for consolation when Glip emotionally abused them in the scene channels
  • Kasran expressed jealousy when Ko'pe ignored them and decided to do sex RP with others instead
  • Kasran eventually got booted from the Flora discord by Glip for making everyone else uncomfortable with their distress
So: your typical clingy annoying crush. Everyone has times where they acted like an annoying twit while they were learning to navigate the hellscape of attraction and dating. In short, this is THE most #1 common, baby-tier social interaction issue EVER. Every community deals with dozens of these cases on the regular.

Yes, this behavior can be obnoxious. Yes, sometimes communities just decide to boot the person when the behavior won't stop. BUT... most communities also don't bill themselves as galaxybrained emotional processing centers where they help members work through difficult psychological issues.

By making this comic, Glip is announcing to the world that their incredible support community cannot even help a person through one of the MOST COMMON emotional hangups there is. I'm sure Glip and co. are going to bleat about how Kasran was "a special case" and "wouldn't let them help." But this comic shows they were NOT anything like that. Kasran was being the most polite, restrained version of a basic-bitch jealous crush I've ever seen. Glip, Ko'pe, and Eevee all knew EXACTLY what the problem was. but Glip's amaaazing emotional processing squad STILL could not successfully help Kasran work through their legitimate emotional pain. And once they gave up on helping Kasran, they decided to gossip behind Kasran's back, deliberately inflame their insecurities, kick them out when they had a meltdown because of it, and then post a comic making fun of them.

Great job, Glip. Your community can't even deal with baby's first social problem without shitting the bed.

At this point, it doesn't really matter to me how this story ends. Even if Ko'pe/Lexy/Papaya end up "apologizing" in the story, the narrative has been full of so much mockery and invective towards Kasran that the whole thing is irredeemable. It's incredible that Glip manages to outdo Kiwifarms in the "petty asshole" department while pretending to be some bastion of understanding and moral goodness.

1583095621491.png1583095547510.png
Kasran is given a tv-headed "Angel" form, code for bad and unacceptable emotions, and gets lots of narrative talking about how selfish and mean they are. Meanwhile, Ko'pe, Lexy, and Papaya get no such treatment even as they're viciously gossiping and setting up hurtful, unnecessary pranks. Says a lot about what Glip thinks is right and wrong.

What's ironic is that Kasran was probably incapable of expressing their real feelings because of Glip and Flora. In the Flora server's eggshell-laden, wrongthink-punishing environment, people become so afraid of "overstepping boundaries" or "violating consent" that they become incapable of basic communication. Imagine if Kasran HAD confessed, Ko'pe probably would have screamed rape. If you communicate, you're bad. If you don't communicate, you're bad. Heads I win, tails you lose.

It consistently amazes me how Glip and her posse are too busy circlejerking each other, literally in this case, to grasp how vile this behavior looks to everyone else. But hopefully they never clue in. Flora has become something of a dickhead honeypot. If someone genuinely relates to these stories, that is a red flag even better than a neon sign flashing "WARNING: RANCID ASSHOLES, BEWARE."

So thank you, Glip, for sacrificing your career to create this narc containment system and for working so hard to warn all the decent, kind people out there to stay far away from it.

Edit: FUCKING LOL, I randomly found this post by Glip and it's just rich. Glip happily crucifies people who "ignore" problems or take them public instead of "discussing them privately with the appropriate parties." But if you do try to discuss things one-on-one with Glip, expect to wait weeks at the very least for a response:

What an utter flaming hypocrite.

Holy shit. I thought she was derailing her sketchy, sloppy, vaguely rapey comic about two characters fucking to rant about Kiwifarms again. This is so much worse.

The person in question seems to at least be smart enough to not react to what is very obvious bait, and seems to use a Pokesona rather than the Flora one Glip assigned them based on their twitter. So I guess they already moved on a few months ago or something.

But yeah, this person gets dunked on because....they caught feelings for someone else but then rather than openly express those feelings, they basically talked to everyone else about it to a degree that it became a repetitive pattern of just going on about wanting to say while also making excuses for themselves for not doing so.

While that can be annoying, It's not really *that* bad - heck about the worst this person does is complain that they dropped what they thought were very obvious hints that didn't get picked up. Anyone with decent dating experience will tell you beating about the bush that way is a horrid method of expressing your feelings.

So Eevee having the mental age of a drama-obsessed 17 year old tattles to Ko'pe and proposes that they have public sex to stick it to Kasran. Which I guess means they had a sex RP together in an open part of the discord group, or in private but deliberately made sure Kasran knew it had happened. Naturally Kasran is distressed and upset and tries to seek support, someone else in the discord ends up being one of the people they talk to, and later reports it to PK and Eevee.

The culture in the discord group is so bad that sex is apparently more important than helping a friend deal with difficult emotions. Then we have Eevee basically playing alpha male by e-sexting someone he knows a member of the discord has a crush on, which is clearly a show of dominance. Man what a close knit community of *lovely* people!

Jesus fuck, it was way worse than I thought. Apparently that shitty incomprehensible "Adventures of Cut-Out" VN was also based on Kasran. Glip made it because... wait for it... Kas liked to be nice and happy around Glip but did not like to encourage Glip's sour, bitchy attitude.

2020-03-01 19_23_25-#drama-club.png

Kas committed the sin of trying to have friendly conversations, and for being unable to handle the pain of unreciprocated affection. Glip and Opa decided to gossip cruelly about this among all the Discord people (who had never even heard about it before) instead of letting Kas have a shred of dignity.

2020-03-01 19_20_02-#drama-club.png

2020-03-01 19_24_44-#drama-club.png

I discovered this because I stumbled upon some "scenes" where other members, including Glip, were going through each Cut-Out VN panel with Kasran and discussing exactly how each detail related to Kasran's fuckups. They only continued to the next panel once Kasran demonstrated sufficient abegnation for each supposed wrongdoing.

2020-03-01 18_46_48-#drama-club.png

In addition, Glip pulled Kas into a scene where Glip roleplayed the TV head character to try and yell at Kas for being too mopey, then was utterly furious when Kas took the high road and ignored Glip's bitchy, hateful roleplaying:

That exchange may have been where the current VN came from.

Kas came back to the server in early 2019 and, nowadays, seems horrifically lonely but terrified to reach out to anyone lest they incur any further wrath. They have terrible self-esteem and second-guess themselves constantly.

Bonus: from what I saw in my digging, Kasran seemed to be a sweet and kind person beloved by most of the Flora server. When they left, it caused confusion and sadness among many members, and a user admitted they got worried about people like Kas randomly disappearing. This user was promptly browbeaten, told they were being distrusting, and that their concern was "a problem they needed to work on." Apparently Glip is the only person who can randomly dreg up gossip about others, nobody else is allowed.

doesnt she have a hefty apology to release? like, the last time she mentioned the thing, it was allegedly 21 pages on feb 13. i just feel like that whole thing was buried; now i know that there is no statute to making apologies or whatever, but seriously youve had all this time and making no indicator of apologizing any time soon other than the occassional pity breadcrumb (and the offhand blaming marl)

i wonder if she made this supposed apology doc any longer-- or if the one she made bashing marl is still larger than her apology

edit: its cool to see that she continues to be a piece of unredeemable garbage to whats left of her fanbase

How do you expect people to take "your side" on this, when you are acting like a elementary schooler who just got told by another student they don't like playing with you? It really isn't that hard to just realize that some people don't want to deal with bad-side when they can actively see how horrible it can get. Since you actively show it off in the Scene channel whenever you want to strum your ego.

I'm very glad this thread has a higher view ratio than Floraverse at this point. People get to clearly see how to not act around others when they see you. It's the only time I can ever say "Thank you Melanie" and not feel bad for those you hurt.
