Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

When do we find out if if he wins or loses?
Appeals generally take 6-12 months from my understanding, although this appeal is supposed to be expedited, so maybe like 3-6 months if it is. Expect to see more extensions. People anxious for results need to realize lawsuits take a long fucking time. I was sued over a very simple car accident and it took a bit over three years with the plaintiffs settling about a month before it was set to go to trial. They settled for barely above lost wages after their lawyer's cut and it amused me to no end because it was bogus as fuck.

There are a few steps ahead.

1. Appellant files appeal (vic already did this)
2. Apellees file response to appeal (these are the extensions funi and marchi have requested), due on 3/31
3. Appellant gets a response to the response
4. Oral arguments may be presented
5. Appeals court rules

There may be a response to a response to a response but I don't know. Things are also further complicated by the fact that Lemoine is cross-appealing on fees and sanctions, so this process is actually happening twice concurrently with ronica as the appellee and Vic as the appellant. The court has granted ronica an extension on their cross-appeal motion but it is unclear about their response.

I believe this is correct, but I could be wrong and will happily stand corrected.

edit: thanks @Five Percent i made the correction

Hey I've been away a few months but now that the case is presumably over and Vic got the slam dunk victory everyone was certain he'd get, how did MoRONICA and Funimation and the other SJW rats end up finding the money to pay the millions of dollars that they were no doubt ordered to pay for viciously defaming Vic and ruining anime with cuckoldry and feminism? Did they run a gofundme or something or did Chupp order a nationwide tax on soy?

edit ; Did they make Nick Rekeita a judge yet on the back of how accurately he predicted the outcome of this?

Marchi's Unopposed Motion to extend. March 31st, just like Funi.
So, now that's close to everyone who "begged" for mote time, with only Vic's counsel producing anything yet (I'm looking at you MoRons). I wonder if Lawtwitter will eat their words.... Pffff as if they'd ever do that.

Holy hell you're uninformed, stop listening to Twitter hot takes, they are not good for the brain.

Right now we are in the appeals phase because the judge fucked up egregiously on a fair amount of issues, from not taking into account evidence that was on the record to making his ruling without any solid citations or basis (side note, if the ruling had been on Vic's favor we would still be on the appeals phase because of how big were the fuck ups).

MoRon missed their period for presenting their cross appeal by two weeks, got an extension and now we are wondering if Lemon will fuck up again and miss his deadline once more, all the other defendants got extensions and will give their response at the end of March if I remember correctly.

Oh okay, the judge fucked up. "The judge fucked up" is what everyone says when they lose. Maybe it's true, or maybe (just maaaybe) American law isn't that okay with dudes molesting people then suing them for talking about it.

For someone so uninformed you appear to be quite certain of things you know nothing about, but considering your first post that is not surprising, read the ruling and the appealants brief, if afterwards you still want to have a discussion on the validity of the Judge's ruling this forum will be open for that otherwise keep your uninformed idiocy to yourself or to Twitter.

No you're wrong.

We are in the Appeals arc.
The Court of Appeals will decide if Chupp fucked up or not.
If the CoA decides if Chupp did and reverses some of the decisions Chupp made, this case gets shot right back to him for round 2.
If they uphold Chupp's decisions, then you can gloat.

No I'm pretty sure 'Vic lost the entire case and got ordered to pay for everyone else's lawyers just like everyone on lawtwitter and PULL said would happen because they were right and y'all were wrong' is already a pretty good reason to gloat.

It's a weird situation where the case was thrown out at the first hurdle because Texas is very based and redpilled and, in essence, has made speech-based civil offenses impossible to act on.

If the appeal does go through, then all that is decided is that the TCPA doesn't apply here. Then the process actually starts and the case is back at square one.

If the appeal doesn't go through, it's just a total nightmare scenario for everyone.

I think Nick has said, what, it's a 50/50 chance? Betting $250,000 on Red in Vegas has only slightly worse odds.

Actually he got ordered to pay for part of their lawyer fees, Marchi I think gets full fees because her lawyer was the best only costing about 50k, Funi gets also about 50k of their 100k bill and MoRon gets about 100k out of a 250k+ bill, which is probably why they are trying to cross appeal the fees.

Edit I might be wrong with the amounts of the bills, because I haven't checked the ruling in a few weeks.

If this case makes all forms of defamation functionally legal in Texas will you move the servers there?
