Maddox / George Ouzounian / George Schnoz - OG Internet blogger, Author of the NYT bestseller Alphabet of Manliness, Cohost of the Biggest Problem in the Universe, Filer of the Lolsuit. MADDOX BLAST!

Holy shit. He did it. He really fucking did it. He managed to save his Godzilla pod, at least for one week:

I listened as I archived, good lord this is some bullshittery. All they talk about in the first 10 minutes are Fortnite dances, YouTubers and some actress who got her feelings hurt on Twitter from someone unofficially diagnosing her as a Munchie. Nobody needs this in their life.

I’ve seen social media policy change quite a bit over the years. A few years ago, you absolutely would have been dinged for not having social media. I’ve seen a sea change because there are countless stories of people fucking up and the company is a cowardly bunch of shits who will can you reflexively. Also the sheen has been worn off of social media. It’s no longer inspiring that people all over the world have a Facebook account so we’re regressing back to the mean where you don’t get penalized for not having a LinkedIn.

I'm not sure if it's just because of what I hear in my circles, but it seems a trendy thing these days to quit Facebook.

Maddox has re-hashed one of his old articles, changing a word.

I always thought that was a weird thing to compare himself to, even back in the day. Nobody goes to corporate websites when they don't have to, they've always been hellholes. During web 1.0, they were Flash-based shitshows running at 3fps that'd bring your computer to a crawl, and now in web 2.0 they've got so many trackers and so much Javascript bullshit going on that they're still a hassle to use. And half the time, they don't even have the information you want, because they want you to install their app.
Just for shits and giggles, here is KFC.com during Maddox's golden age: https://web.archive.org/web/20020605084400/http://www.kfc.com/

There is absolutely nothing of remote use aside from an "Advanced Store Locator" which may or may not have worked.

maddox has yet to give up trying to farm corona for viral spread, and also yet to give up doing it poorly

my best guess for what he was going for here was to trick people into retweeting without clicking, which would drive people to whatever now-deleted article resides at c.cgi?u=quarantine_list, which now redirects to his front page. i guess he expected the link to condense down to a t.co so it'd be more convincing, but it for some reason didn't

sadly while my bot caught the tweet before its deletion, nothing archived the article as far as i can tell

i find it really amusing that maddox sees a trend here with corona panic, but is so completely out of touch his best guess for how to capitalize on it is to hope boomers in los angeles specifically will accidentally click on his website

I could talk about his ancient swine flu article sucking, or his fossilized Geocities website scaring people away, but set that all aside.

Pretend his website looks great, and his comedy is amazing.

In that hypothetical circumstance, would it make sense to try to trick people scared of the corona outbreak into reading his hilarious "people scared of corona are idiots" comedy article?

Even if you didn't suck, they wouldn't be your audience, you near-eastern dipshit.

At least use a link shortener so people don't immediately see it's an article on your dumbass website.

That's legitimately scummy and he probably pulled it down after he thought about it a little bit and realized he could get deplatformed from everywhere for dicking around like that. It's not even trying to be funny, it's the exact same thing as linkspam from some third world country. Play stupid games, etc., etc.
