I trust Israel more than jokes like WHO because Israel cares about its own people (well, the Ashkenazim anyway) whereas the former only cares about feelz. Their actions seem to indicate coronavirus is a bigger deal than I’m seeing others treat it, which is in line with what has been posted here thus far.

The big question is whether infection now will confer any immunity against future, more lethal, mutations. The Asian flu of the late 1950s conferred a degree of immunity against the nastier Hong Kong flu of the late 1960s.

It may even be that previous SARS/MERS infection provides some immunity to covid-19, but not enough people had either of those viruses for it to be important in the grand scheme of things.

It's in my city now. I've got 8 N-95 masks with a face shield. A full faced p100 mask with replacement filters. Five hundred surgical grade non-latex gloves. Ten bottles of purell. Five boxes of dried food supplies, two cases of bottled water, 3 months of my immunosuppresant drugs, six months of the rest, and $20,000 in investment/trading accounts to generate income with $1,000 in cash and $50,000 ready to go into the market at bottom.

I realize this is probably way overkill, but I've been on a ventilator and on death's door more than once, so fuck this virus.

The young guy is in very good shape, the old man's in serious condition and sadly might be our first potential fatality. He was infected by visiting relatives from United States of all places. I would like to kindly ask Burgers to keep the plague away from us.

Still no word on the woman, which makes me worry she's the first detected case of community spread from a previously unknown source.

Dude, if I had to take immunosuppressants I'd be just as paranoid as you about this. What's gonna be a particularly bad cough for me has a high chance of outright fucking killing you.

No hun, I think that you are doing the right thing, for your situation. For the average Joe or Jane though, under the age of 65, we have been instructed NOT to take such measures, probably because supplies should remain accessible to the vulnerable.

I had SARS, I also probably had West Nile (rescued a lot of downed birds to give to wildlife rehabbers without gloves) I'm fairly healthy and resistant but the flu has kicked my butt and given me pneumonia (I have a medical condition that makes me vulnerable to UTI) twice so I'm not optimistic about Corona-chan passing me over. I called urgent care and they said a bunch of panicked folks are waiting to be seen, better to come in tomorrow morning.

Everyone is now out of isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizer, TP, water and of course masks of any kind. I'm glad I did my panic buying along with everyone else here weeks ago.

Spoke too soon, she's known to have been in contact with another infected person confirmed earlier today.

This is niche information and I'm likely going to ease down on case by case details as the numbers inevitably soar, but so far it's somewhat reassuring to see that every case we know can be traced back to a specific external source. So far.

I'd try calling your regular doc if you have one and asking them to do you a favor and write a script for you over the phone. Either way; feel better. Cuddling kitties is good for colds. My old cat started sleeping next to my moms chest when she had bronchitis a few years back. She credits him with her speedy recovery.

I went for the obvious cheap joke there but you are absolutely right. When it comes to protecting and taking care of their own they are generally amazing and it looks like saving their people is worth more to them than some stock market shekels.
