Depends on what you mean by a lot of people, and by "contained by November" I should have mentioned that I was referring to both the likely slow-down in new infections caused by the hotter weather slowing the virus down, combined with increased/better quarantine efforts and the likely development of a reasonably effective vaccine over the coming months. Oh and I find the economy getting hit as hard as 2008 to be highly unlikely, this outbreak is temporary, not some permanent disaster.Okay, let's assume the worst of it passes by November. By November a lot of people are going to be dead and their greiving loved ones are going to be looking for someone to blame. Hard to blame a virus, easy to hate the man eho "let" mom and dad die drowning in their oen fluids. I also think you underestimate how bad the economy is going to get ratfucked by this thing. 2008 level disaster is the best case scenario at this point.
Secondly, you underestimate the public's unwillingness to vote for a senile old man, the fact that the GOP voters are highly motivated this year if the performance in the optional primary is any indication, and the Democrat base is fully aware that Biden is a senile old fart and likely won't turn out for him in the general like they did for Obama. Remember, the guy has had multiple presidential runs before this, and failed each time.
:Edit: Finally, another important thing to remember is that Trump's base, as I kinda mentioned before, is highly motivated to go out and vote in November, but one additional thing I want to emphasize here is that Biden's(and the rest of the dems too, mostly, but they aren't relevant anymore now)base isn't nearly as enthusiastic to go out and vote for him. "Vote blue no matter who" doesn't actually work as a slogan, and the dems in particular vote for someone, not against someone. Things might be different if they had a better candidate, Bernie with his focus on healthcare, Gabbard with her comparative sanity, competence and general electability compared to the rest of the democratic field, probably some others I'm forgetting, but Biden? He's simply not capable of going the distance, he's no Bill Clinton or Barrack Obama, he's not even a John Kerry or a Hilary Clinton. He's simply too old and mentally feeble to stand up against Trump on the debate stage.
