Löfven: We have what it takes to tackle the consequences of the virus
During Wednesday night, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven held a press conference on how Sweden should continue to tackle the virus:
"Sweden has the economic muscle needed to meet the consequences of the infection".
Shortly after 20, the government held a press conference at Rosenbad. Prime Minister Stefan Löfven began by lamenting the grief of the relatives of the person who is today reported dead as a result of the corona.
- The risk of transmission is very high. We have a very serious situation, ”Stefan Löfven said, announcing that society's resources will be mobilized.
The Prime Minister emphasizes that money should not and will not be a problem to fight the spread of infection.

He also wanted to raise his appreciation for all the parliamentary parties that stand behind the work against the corona, and let differences between parties.

Stefan Löfven ended his part of the press conference by expressing empathy for all those who are worried.

The police can dissolve gatherings
During the day, the government announced that they are following the recommendation of the Public Health Authority to limit meetings with more than 500 people.
"The government is ready to make the decisions needed to stop the spread of infection," Stefan Löfven said.
Justice Minister Morgan Johansson emphasizes that this is the first time ever in Swedish history that a government uses the opportunity to impose a ban, which is an exception to, among other things, the right of demonstration.
The ban will take effect after midnight.
- The police have the power to dissolve such a meeting if it contravenes the regulation, clarified Morgan Johansson.
Anyone who violates the ban on gatherings risks fines or imprisonment for up to six months.
