So is there any theoretical way for Sanders to get the numbers he would need to win? Any realistic way?
I think he is holding out for one last debate as a Hail Mary. The reason Biden suddenly surged is all the moderate candidates who were digging into his voter share suddenly dropped out, and endorsed him just before Super Tuesday. Just Klobachar's endorsement alone gave Biden Minnesota on a silver platter.

Sanders is probably hoping for Biden to have a few too many psychotic episodes during a 1v1 debate for comfort. The DNC must be offer him a lot of nice houses and summer camp properties to get him to drop out before the scheduled debate this Sunday. Sanders does not like to play dirty, but forcing Joe to implode on national TV is his only chance at this point.

Or the DNC cancels the debate, saying it's over Corona virus concerns.

His speech was positive like dislike ratios on almost every video of this speech.

However on a side note, wanted to see the CNN reaction and instantly they lose their minds over Trump using the word foreign to describe the virus, saying its Stephen Miller's work and xenophobia and his plan to ban travel to Europe is like the Muslim travel ban.

Biden seems to have a problem getting independent voters to vote for him, but he's considered to be the "electable" candidate for some reason?
Hmmmm...I think, and call me crazy here, but I think that Trump may just get another 4 years you guys.
When was the last time the candidate chosen by a primary because they were "electable" won?

Chill, the closer he gets to the convention the higher probability of riots.
I would really like to see commies fighting leftists in the streets....Again.

But Trump siphoned off all the blue collar union voters. Where would we get based construction workers to beat up the hippies?

There's only one path I can see where the Democrats have a chance against Trump. It goes like this.
1) Joe Biden gets >50% of the delegates to cinch the nomination.
2) Joe drops out, citing health concerns and taps Michelle Obama to carry on in his stead.
3) Michelle reminds people that the only reason that they liked Joe at all was because he stood near Obama a bunch.
4) They whip up the demos - black, female, moderate/lib - and appeal to the rest using Trump's "I have no voting record" shotgun approach of saying a bunch of things and letting people believe that whatever position they like the best is her true position.

Her lack of official positions and the short period of vetting will protect her from RNC attacks and allow for maximum maneuvering.
If the Dems actually do want to win, this is what they'll do. If they don't do it, then I think they never even intended to win.

You are forgetting the fact that Joe could quit as soon as the general election ballots go to the printers, and the party can replace him with literally anyone, and the November ballot would still read 'Joe Biden'.

The Obamas are too busy in a contract with Netflix for Michael Obama to be President.

But all the polls tell me independents favor Biden in a match up against Trump.

How were all those Michigan voters for biden then?
