Why are the twitterati yelling at healthy people not to go out? The sick and vulnerable are the ones who should stay the fuck in.

Also aren't the CDC recs to avoid gatherings of 250+ ? You're not going to encounter 250+ people at a restaurant, coffee shop, bookstore, etc. It seems like a lot of people are using this as an opportunity to feel important and superior and finger wag at people who aren't abandoning all common sense and panicking as much as they are.

Because the healthy people go out, because they aren't afraid bc they healthy, and they spread it to each other being sweaty hedonists in the club or whatever the fuck, and then they go home and coof around their immunocompromised friends and/or relatives who proceed to fucking die. If one of the at-risk niggas lives alone and can completely 100% avoid all human contact they don't need to worry about it, but the number of people (esp chronically sick people) who are capable of doing that is relatively low.

Basically, despite being largely ethnic chinese, it's nothing like the mainland. More like Japan. Or a really big well run shopping mall / airport .
Diasporan Chinese are very different to the mainlanders these days. Not living under a communist regime + not having the culture shock of the Cultural Revolution + being exposed to western ideas.

Plus, Singapore was one of the first to lock down their borders tightly, to screen and isolate known clusters of infection before they can spread, way back in January. It was considered pretty radical then, but I think their foresight were proven to be correct in this case.

How are they going to spread it if they're healthy? I take 'healthy' to mean 'not infected'.

Singapore had the best response to this.

Unfortunately we can't really replicate it in the US, but we can probably learn something from it. Small things like having testing available, you know.

Ireland- on Thursday the government shut down a bunch of public buildings and all schools and colleges, and advised that all indoor events over 100 people should be cancelled.

Some pubs decided that since they didn't have actual events going on it was fine to pack people in up to the rafters, so now the government is talking about seeking special powers to force them to comply. The Taoiseach (PM), Health Minister, and the leaders of the opposition parties all seemed pretty fucking mad about it, Health Minister called it an insult to healthcare workers. A lot of them are now closing "voluntarily", it's anticipated that they'll be ordered to close within the next day or two because they couldn't follow instructions.

It's not really the most common route of infection but it can happen. It basically has to move from your conjunctiva to your tear ducts, get into your sinuses and then into your respiratory system.

So it's a pretty wandering path compared to just inhaling aerosolized droplets.

Don't bullshit me, I've seen the documentary...

The post mortum on this will be interesting. How much you want to bet creating tests for this shit was at the very slowed down by FDA protocols, and/or labs refusing to use tests/protocols because they didn't receive the x97a certified paperwork required by State/Federal regulation yadayadabullshit.

Singapore and South Korea both did really well.

They have public healthcare and incentivized people to get tested. The countries which tried to pretend nothing was happening have ended up eating shit so far.

Everyone in my little cul-de-sac knows I do anyway, because when I go I usually get a "Oh could you get me so and so while you are there?" By a few of my neighbours.

it's just she has to rely on home delivery for her shopping because her husband used to do it all before he died and she's a bit frail, and they haven't been delivering it, she said they substituted it this week with kitchen roll lol.

It's not that bad here anyway, went to the supermarket to get some limes this morning and there was nothing glaringly missing, some of the more expensive brands were looking a bit low, but it's not like the major cities where everyone is freaking out.

It's like the start of the War of the Worlds book, where devastation is happening elsewhere, but here, it's life as usual.

Although, a lot of people round here are in their late 60's, early 70's, so we shall see...

Better get a high-speed hunting rifle ... perch on the roof in your lawn furniture and pick'em off as they raid your cache of but wipe and bleach ...the shit is gonna get ugly, bro.

So here's something interesting....

I decided to go looking through the East Midlands where Pillockshire is located. The UK Gov withdrew one list for a more easily updatable interactive map.

Problem is, the rise in cases? The huge spikes we've been seeing? Are only in very very small pockets. Namely London and other "larger" cities in the UK. Even smaller cities such as Nottingham has seen its COVID-19 cases rise by just 2. The country itself has gone from 3 to 6.

Derbyshire has been the same, with a rise of just 5.

Lincolnshire has just 4 cases. A rise of 1.

Nearly all the major jump figures have been London, Manchester and Birmingham. London remaining the worse hit. (lol, Good, Fuck the Bug People of London)

It certainly explains the sudden media shrieking, it's the usual London Centric Reporting. Same as the letter of hundreds of "scientists" who say the UK Government is doing a shit job to the point the government has rolled its eyes and will have to release the modelling data for these shrieking cucks.

Irresponsible London Bastards as usual fucking things up for the rest of us. Just point out London needs to start isolating itself.

Seriously, use the UK map and try to find double figures anywhere bar London in a local authorities list.

Across the whole of the English Midlands (Population 10,135,000) there are just 75 confirmed cases.

Or 0.00074% of the population.

The spikes mean it has gotten into a small contained population. Examples are the Shinji Cult in SK, The Hasidim in New Rochelle, NY, or when it gets into a Nursing Home. The big explosions are when it gets into the local health care system such as a Hospital.

South Korea has included
Proper Hand Washing & Coughing Etiquette
Into their kpop broadcasting

There is something very strange and creepy about that chicks fingers. Like does she have extra digits?

I fully expect some regulatory changes to come down the pipeline.

FDA and CDC decided to get into a pissing match during the first week of February. NYS wanted to use their own test kits and blamed the CDC, but it was actually the FDA's fault.

Which is the exact same thing that happened a few years ago with Ebola. Nobody knows who the fuck is supposed to be in charge.
