I was discussing this last night with a friend. We shouldn't be surprised, they keep eating their own, so of course they'd be the first ones to want everyone else but themselves to die.

It totally proves that this is all about 'entitlement' and not about 'the good of all'.

I swear each and every one of them, think that 'when' communism/socialism comes, they as an individual are going to get recognised for everything they did, and boosted to the top of food chain.

I don't care if people don't like others using the word to describe them, but it's blatant narcissism, every single one of them!

At least the right are sincere with their selfishness. The greedy conservatives that can afford respirators and whatnot are fully aware that they aren't good people, they're just fortunate enough to be rich. The other brand of conservative that genuinely values tight-knit community and family are going to come out strongest out of all of us, since though the state will be overwhelmed, they have a system for helping people cope and recover thats proven to work since caveman times.

Meanwhile the 'urban elite' will designate the in-group (which includes themselves no matter what) which deserves all the sympathy and support, and designate the out-group (arbitrarily the old, the rural, and the white) which should be left to die.

How long before we see riots in the cities? If LA blacks kick off I'd say they're a whole heap more justified this time than they were in the 90s.

So far in the world I think it's the frequency of the cases rising that is the only big factor. The beats are about the same. People aged 60+(Mainly men) and those that have prexisting conditions are at most risk for it. However everyone can be a target so best is to stay inside mainly and avoid contact with others unless you're required to for medical reasons.

People are reporting though that in areas like Africa the virus is dying out due to the heat, which when late spring/early summer hits should be easier on everyone due to increasing temp. It'll be good for the time but when Winter rolls back around it'll prob happen again.

The way that the UK is dealing with this it pathetic. My mum lives a town over and has had a chesty cough but she's been told by her work to keep working or else docked pay and she's disabled, so chances are this'll effect her more than her 20 something year old colleagues. As for me, I went to the hospital earlier today for a routine physio appointment and the atmosphere was weird. Hand sanitizer everywhere - from entrance to the physio reception, there were three stops to wash your hands at. Different to how it usually is in there. My physio was asking me tonnes of questions about how I was feeling, more so about corona than what I was actually there for. Anyway, I've got home, had a nap and now my chest is tight and I've got an annoying cough. My work's implementation has literally been to disinfect pens after customers use them but to try not to take any time off because if over your absence quota, you could be fired.
Sucks, the UK is bullshit and I'm pretty sure the government is doing essentially nothing right now.

The UK response is actually pretty good insofar that they don't want to pointlessly suspend life itself in a pointless blind panic which will encourage complacency when it hits us hard in a month or two's time, but restrictions will be coming.

Large scale events are being cancelled in order to free up the medical personnel usually required for them as opposed to "stopping the spread" as noted by the Scots who's smaller resources means they want to free them up to train now as opposed to later on, while the English side can still spare some more time before it changes tact.

Large numbers of businesses in the UK are already taking steps to mitigate and encourage people to work from home, but certain businesses will have to retain staffing levels. Namely food distribution, banking, fuel and healthcare.

Hospitals are now moving towards the necessary isolation measures, no visitors to large swathes of the hospital and individual visitors to the terminal cancer ward. I saw some people wearing gloves and one patient was moved about the hospital with a face mask while I was there.

All elective surgeries are cancelled in Pillockshire's NHS Trust and there are currently no plans even in doomsday scenarios of stopping people who need treatment etc, the plan would be to expand isolation wards/places to put Coronavirus victims.

Thanks to the screeching tardation of the press further whipping up fear and frenzy, Downing Street is now going to give daily briefings and updates (also livestreamed) from 16.30 today.

The USS Comfort’s home port is Norfolk. It just finished an extended tour down in South America. It was parked off Venezuela for months. It comes home for crew rotation and work ups, refit and resupply etc. I think it is entering or in a refit cycle.

now more interesting is that USS Mercy is also in her home port in San Diego. Both ships being in port for part of the year is not that unusual. Their deployment on overseas humanitarian missions depends on budgets. Budgets that are among the first to be slashed. But don’t rule out that they have both been brought home to aide in domestic needs. But they also just received orders for lifecycle expansion to 2035. So they may both be in for refit for that. This would be a good time to do it as they have the USS Ford floating around doing work ups. While it’s not ready to be a frontline carrier yet, it has a full floating hospital on board.

So I've noticed two things in the last few days as the Wu Flu panic continues to escalate.

What the fuck is wrong with you people seriously? What happened to love and respect for your fellow man? How is it that a generation of liberals who preach tolerance and love are the closest thing to actual nazis I've ever seen in person?

Western countries go out of their way to not be racist. They are about the only exception. All the asian countries like japan, china, anywhere they're the majority- ar EXTREMELY racist. South American countries, even those with a fair amount of black descendents from the slave trade are just as bad. I haven't done the middle east but I hear similar. We've been trying to pull our people out of an asian country for a while because anyone who saw the way they responded months ago knew the party would search for a scapegoat. I'm no expert but I looked into this myself because I have a risk factor ('beetus) and if your immune system is normal you should be fine. If you become severely ill your condition will fuck you though, your body will lack the oomph to carry through.
