This is also a medication used to treat paludism and a lot of auto immune things in Africa... The problem is... quinine / chloroquine have some pretty brutal / severe second effects sometimes... Like going almost blind, sometime loosing hearing and cause a plethora of other health issues, the list of secondary effects... is pretty long for a "cure"...

Does anyone else feel like they over panic bought? I bought four 1 oz (29 ml) hand sanitizers last week for my family of three, one of whom basically never leaves the house anyway, and I'm realizing now I definitely did not need that much.

I think a lot of people are gonna be in the same boat with hand sanitizer. I think it was just serving as this comfort item everyone was desperately seeking to make them feel safe, not realizing they're not gonna need that much if they're barely leaving the house anyway.

This is a totally new situation for all of us and I think most of us just don't know how to react, so we try and throw whatever we can into what we think will make us feel safer.

Same with the toilet paper, it just became this weird totem to make people feel like they're prepared for something they have very little control over.

I wonder when the world will reach the "acceptance" phase of all this.

Particularly the severe lack of patriotism and loyalty to the nation exhibited by corporate America over the last 25 years. Corporate America literally sold us out to the Chinese Communists. And yes, your local grocer probably wasn't involved in that but what they are doing does underscore the disconnect most businesses now have between their Duty to owners and shareholders and their duties to the nation.

I think there will be a need for very essentials jobs and a boom actually in production / factories opening, after such a realisation that we all need to start producing home / country made everything to never rely again on a hostile foreign nation that has no interest in your survival, you would be a fool to not reconsider every step leading to that huge error, even here in europe there are discussions about relocalizing most of our production back in our respective countries.

CONCLUSION People with blood group A have a significantly higher risk for acquiring COVID-19 compared with non-A blood groups, whereas blood group O has a significantly lower risk for the infection compared with non-O blood groups.

Interesting, if correct. Have a hard time believing anything out of China.

It's important to remember that "significantly" refers to statistical significance (i.e. a difference that is unlikely to have occurred by chance) rather than a difference that would seem obvious to a casual observer. Looking at the respective odds ratios, and assuming the data is accurate (lol China), A types are only 20% more likely to contract the infection than non-A types. Conversely, O types are 2/3 as susceptible as non-O types. I doubt this would be enough to account for infection rate discrepancies between countries that would seem interesting to a layperson skimming the numbers.

Ok, not sure how the jump to 106 from 17 happend. John Hopkins before today listed US recoveries in for individual states or cities. I thought the numbers were low because we knew that people had been discharged from the bio containment center in nebraska and there was no nebaska or omaha listing they must have been counted under the Diamond Princess listing.

Today there is just a total USA number, no city or state, its a hell of alot higher then the total was yesterday, bio containment hasnt had or released people in numbers to account for it and last but not least the Diamond Princess numbers are still there and unchanged from the past week. Thats all I know.
