Oh sure, it's about family, love, marriage, and kids, except for when it falls apart because fuck you, kill off Han Solo so his estranged wife can reconcile with her lesbian lover (off-screen). Not to mention Anakin basically kills his pregnant wife because he's a whiny little bitch being manipulated by the Dark Side, but it's a better romance than whatever the fuck Reylo is supposed to be.

It's weird because other Reylos in other parts of the fandom like Poe and Finn. Twitter Reylos are particularly thirsty, overdramatic, and whiny I've noticed.

Still, I'll take them over antis. Antis are on another level of psycho entirely.

Yeah John Boyega poked some fun at Reylo (which he's done with other ships like FinnRey) and twitter Reylos especially are being overdramatic crybabies about it. Supposedly his comments did result in antis harassing and threatening Reylos anew (which I can believe knowing antis), but that isn't John's fault since it's not like he told everyone to go tell Reylos to kill themselves or whatever. John's comments were all pretty tame and lighthearted for as much as people are losing their shit.

I think John is just sick of people taking shipping so seriously and pestering him about it.

Fans using current events as a vehicle for their ships is nothing new. Though at least the J2 Haiti Fic got the shredding it deserved.

How 'bout being ashamed of the community in not being able to tell fiction from reality apart? You might as well just stand alone and mock your people while you do your own thing. And if you look around, you can see others also standing up from the orgy scuffle and feel better at knowing others are sick of it, too, even if you can't move over to stand with them.

I never understood the "my ship must be canon!!" spiel from shippers. It's fine and dandy to ship, I do that too, but the canon obsession is super fucking annoying, who cares?! just jerk off and continue consuming product in healthy doses.

When their pairing gets canonized they are the most obnoxious fags to be with on fandom circles. yes you cunt we know your ship is canon, you don't have to say it every fucking time around shipper heretics, let the degens be degenerate in peace (unless they have a spergout and then sure, roast their ass)

It feels worse when you like a story and it's plot & world building but then shippers make it all about romance and it's all that you care about in this story? You'd think the story is a romance one considering that shippers are rapid fire posters in the fandom.
