Again, I don't know if any of these has been posted, I guess not.
Peru, it's in day 3 of quarantine, and now w'eve been given a curfew.
Turns out that many young people got infected after the government asked people to stay at home before issuing the state of emergency, because they went all to clubs and pubs and that's how the virus moved around. Looks like they then passed it to their elders.
So, the order today at noon was that it's been forbidden to leave home from 8pm to 5am, unless it's an emergency or for people who have to work. The rest of us will be immediately arrested. I already seen it on tv, a man who was out only to get his car in the garage, was taken to the police station. If anyone needs any urgency to leave, like going to the doctor or whatever, they need to carry a white flag to alert the police. Cars also have to take a few precautions, but I don't know which are.
Today, people started with the clapping. I was a bit reluctant, but the kids wanted so we went to the windows to clap and there were people not only clapping but also singing the national anthem and another song that we all lvoe as a second anthem. From our window we could see about a dozen of police patrols who were going to stay up all night protecting the area, and it's the same everywhere so I guess they deserve it. Many people also approached some to give them food and water, which they totally deserve.
Also, looks like most Mexicans who were stuck here are finally being taken home. I don't know what's the deal with that. many are still stuck in the airport, and they have to sleep outside, waiting for any miracle flight, only protected by the poliec who's there. Most are Peruvians or Colombians who need to leave the city. I hope they can make it. Some have children and there are no hotels close nor any house close to keep them and they can't be much far away from it because as soon as a flight is announced, they have to leave very quickly.
We have 145 cases so far, the government says it's expected, so we're doing fine. I feel, we're gonna have more cases in the next day, but it's because of these stupid kids who didn't obey the orders. Luckily, it was contained quickly. We're gonna be fine, but it won't be until the next ten days. We're only day 3, it's yet 12 to go. Tomorrow's husband last day at work as he can do some here and hedoesn't need to leave, so we're gonna be all together safe at home until the final day. We're all fine so far, one of the kids only had a headache but it was unrelated, everybody's fine.
Stay safe, kiwis. We're gonna make it!
