Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Doug TenNapel still beats you though. Earthworm Jim is the most successful crowdfunded comicbook, followed by Icarus of the Sun. In terms of successive campaigns, your not even close to Brian Pullido who's Lady Death has raised over 2.6 million dollars so far, and every campaign of his grows in value and backers. His most recent Lady Death #11 is his best performing campaign yet. If you want to include webcomics then Order of the Stick is the most successful crowdfunded comicbook. As pathetic as you find webcomics, its even more pathetic that they out perform a former DC artist like yourself.

Ro heads the Warcampaign youtube channel, the official channel of your superfans. You've appeared on his stream many times, your presence alone valids his perceived position within CG. Ro is also the manager/creator of the Vestige campaign, didn't you do the cover for that campaign? I wonder what Bleeding Cool, Polygon and all the other usual suspects would think of you working and collaborating with someone who expressed those views.

Look how mad you get over this...This is the salt I was craving.

CYBERFROG BLOODHONEY has now raised $1.17Million.

Earthworm Jim raised nearly $900K. Icarus and the Sun, which is a year late fulfilling, didn't even get $600K.

ORDER OF THE STICK is $1.2M, which it's gathered since 2012. We'll pass that one soon.

Brian Pulido is great. He's been doing this for years. The new Lady Death campaign: 2,733 backers pledged $323,866 to help bring this project to life.
REKT PLANET beat that its first day, Smug.

All of your anger, all of your conspiracy theories, all of your griping...for what? And to low-key threaten to tattle to SJWs at Bleeding Cool and Polygon about me collaborating with someone who expressed views they don't like? Ha ha ha. I illustrated Jordan B. Peterson's book, goofball.

I didn't know there would be so many tantrums thrown over this.

Ro isn't a creator, he's a YouTuber and a superfan. He can do or say whatever he wants.

Then why the vestige indie gogo is under his name? And he's a content creator for YouTube due to his live streams....but you think it's okay to have fans who harass people whos in cg or keep harrassing people and going to their home state to intice violence? I mean a lot of comics and shows are usually ruined by super fans behavior, that drives away customers knowing you gladly associate and downplay their antics as "dildo memes" when they are going to comic cons or people's house trying to start drama under your name, not the ceaser moniker, but your actual name tracing it back to you. I know you can't police them but you can't just parade the shit they are doing.

How mad I am? I'm as cool as a cucumber. I'm just pointing out the fact that Doug TenNapels Earthworm Jim outperformed Cyberfrog. The online news articles talk about EJWs success, Doug TenNapel hosted a panel at Comicon on the the success of crowdfunding, which you got mighty salty about I might add. There's no online articles talking about Cyberfrog and you haven't hosted any panels at Comicon about the success of your campaign, because in the grand scheme of crowdfunding its fairly insignificant.

You want to talk numbers? Okay lets talk numbers. Bloodhoney raised 1.17 million across what five campaigns?
*1,170,000/5= 234,000 on average per campaign

Earthworm Jim raised 815,676 on IGG and 79,278 on kickstarter for a total of 894,954
*894,954/2= 447,447 on average per campaign

Doug beats you on averages again Ethan, the numbers don't lie. Also Order of the Stick didn't raise 1.2 million SINCE 2012, there is no in-demand stage on Kickstarter. That 1.2 million was raised during the campaign stage, I guess because you don't use Kickstarter you wouldn't know that. Also what anger? What conspiracy theories? I'm not the Comic Book Hut, I'm just a guy looking at data and citing it.

I also didn't threaten to tattle, I don't have the energy to actually contact those outlets because I don't care enough to. I was asking you a hypothetical question, how it would look? From your response it sounds like you do care, sounds like I hit a nerve actually. Last time I checked Jordan B Peterson didn't tweet about "cleansing the gays" and how "it means nothing to be black" like your boy Ro.

You're pretty mad!

Doug didn't host a panel at Comicon. Billy Tucci had a Spotlight panel devoted to himself, and Billy, who is humble, and is trying to promote crowdfunding, invited Pulido, Palmiotti, and several others, along with TenNapel, to sit on the panel and talk for an hour with him. Billy hosted it.

(BTW, the panelists heard Doug would be there and several wanted to pull out, but stayed out of friendship to Billy. SMiller was there, but was asked to sit in the audience.

Person of Color Ro is hilarious when he's being a shitlord. He's an entertainer and he doesn't mean it. Unlike Straight White Doug, who very much does mean it when he tells gays they shouldn't have the same rights that Doug has. In both cases, I don't care at all. I'm only here to sell comics.

Just passed $389K!

Does cyberfrog hate black people? And if you accept the lgbt community make salamandriod a homosexual who gets REKTED by the wasps, or make heather gay so we can get some yuri fap material for a pinup. Or else cyber frog is homophobic? Ro was talking about exterminating the gay population, Doug havent done anything like that. Doug and d. Earnst gave a bisexual man that tugs wife lured to Tennessee and left him at a homeless shelter 1k, why not donate to a lbgt charity because doug at least helped a person in the lbgt community.

Again I must assert I am quite calm, if anything I find all this highly amusing. You say Billy Tucci hosted the panel and invited Brian and Doug? Why didn't your good friend Billy Tucci invite you? "Person of color Ro", sounds like virtue signalling to me, I'm surprised it wasn't followed with a rainbow, frog and shrugging emoji.

For someone who just passed 389K, you sure seem like a thin skinned individual. I mean you don't see Gail Simone in this thread responding to such obvious bait.

The modern LGBTQ+ movement wants trannies to have the right to rape TERFs, keeps your children as property at their pool parties, force women to shave their balls and pass aids to everyone without legal consequence.

I don't believe any straight adult has those rights, (except for the aids one in California.)

If the "right" you are talking about is gay marriage, the majority of Americans opposed it, as evident by the 2008 proposition 8 amendment in California banning it by popular vote, before Obama's activist courts forced it onto the rest of the nation.

Opposing LGBTQ+ Rainbow coalition isn't controversial.

Supporting the Pride movement means you agree to lesbian women being raped by transexuals. It means you oppose the Civil rights of women by allowing Men to kick them out of their own sports leagues, and denying them title IX opportunities. It means you support the court ordered castration of young boys, because one parent is mentally ill or an activist in academia thinks they want to be a women. It has absolutely nothing to do with gay rights.

Does cyberfrog hate black people? And if you accept the lgbt community make salamandriod a homosexual who gets REKTED by the wasps, or make heather gay so we can get some yuri fap material for a pinup. The question you should ask, is Cyberfrog a Pedophile? Are human children and tadpoles safe around him? Does he simply want to wear demon outfits and read to them in libraries or does he have convictions as a child predator and uses the libraries to get close to them?

PS; Traps aren't gay.

Can we not turn the CG thread into the containment thread (I realise I've also been guilty)
But im sure cyberfrog hates black people
Apparently Cyberfrog loves fried chicken and white bitches. He is black people.
Marvel wasn’t done.
One of them has tik-tok, one moderates reddit... One of them is a Vita Ayala self insert.

They’re also just race/gender swapped versions of the more famous X-men. Original, my ass.

Yeah, the team shot near the middle shows that pretty well.

They talk about how their nu-mutants are super cool (lol, as if anybody likes jannies) which takes away one of the pillars of drama. I'm no expert so somebody can :neckbeard: me, but I've always thought x-mens storytelling revolved around 3 main pillars; Magneto and mutant supremacy, Prof X and his everybody gets along routine, the non mutant humans (who should justifiably be fucking terrified) and stories grow from how they all interact. My prediction is more of the Nightcrawler 'tastes like racism and bigotry' garbage from ~1 year ago.

The art looks 10x better than the new warriors, though that's not saying much. The art snippets they show just before jerking the artist off don't look as dynamic as they claim.

Marvel wasn’t done.

In this order:

1. Character is not what app they use; it's a trait about them. When even my low thought no effort shitposts can do more with the New New Warriors than this, you failed as a writer.
2. So creative to make bootlegs of re-established characters to make them sidekicks. Are you some 100+ year old men from WWII or something?
3. It's telling they think the X-men need sidekicks. Moreso they don't put them in Generation X or X-Force or something.

It's so shit I ain't able to fix this, GG Marvel you suicidal sandwiches.

Are Woke YA librarians with the password to their system's Baker & Taylor account enough of an audience to support something like this? Because I just can't see anyone else buying this. And even the librarians will obviously only buy it in bound graphic novel format. And note that even they're not spending their own money. They're spending yours, via your property taxes, mostly. 😐

Would be mildly curious to see if the Nightcrawler retcon somehow remains a devout Catholic or not. They might as well go whole hog the other way and make zir a fedora tipping atheist who kowtows to muslims, because why not at this point.

edit: I'm a moron, somehow the fact they're sidekicks and not a reimagining got completely away from me.

Rather than go to Bleedingcool I'll just post a YBZ video. He shows headlines related to corona with indie publishers delaying publishing and a recent interaction between Peter Simeti (Alterna) and C.B Cebulski (Marvel).

Semeti has gone full beast mode on twitter lately and I applaud him.
Cudos to Image for at least implementing returnability for the next few months and fuck Marvel and their mealy mouthed offer of a temporary discount to stores that aren't even open.
Neither Semeti nor Image have the deep pockets of a trans national corporation behind them but they're willing to meet the retailers half way, Marvel, in their ivory tower, are taking the Marie Antoinette approach and will no doubt make a surprised-pikachu face when they meet a similar fate.

'Returnability now! Dew it faggots!'

It make me think that OG comicsgate made a strategic error in thinking they could change the industry by directly targeting it. YaBoi makes a good point when he said that if comics were returnable this shit would sort itself out in 3 months, because none of these so-jus comics would make it past issue 2 if that was the case. So OG comicsgate time would have been better spent courting and organizing the retailers to force the issue of returns.

You're pretty mad!

Not really. Quitting CG, although it involved being disowned & publically disavowed, is the best thing I've done in ages.

I no longer have to do the mental gymnastics to justify your and WC's behaviour.
I no longer have to believe the dodgy numbers and lies about the enemy of the week
I no longer watch who I talk to on twitter lest I violate one of the shunnings.
I no longer have to keep paying the tithes, in finance and attention, to low-energy streamers.
I no longer have to support shitty, second rate comic-books because...loyalty.

It's just a shame it took over two-years to see the light. Since leaving CG a month ago I've:

Chatted with a wide range of people, and not had to watch my tongue once.
I've gone full-autist sorting my 2k+ indie comics collection, and got into retro-reads of lots of gems from the 80s & 90s.
Done loads of drawing.
Backed two comics on KS....and received them already
Picked up Dynamite's Red Sonja - Age of Chaos (which is awesome.)
Been able to look at myself in the mirror without feeling sick.

Let me put this in simple terms. CG is a comics movement for people who hate comics. It has no respect for the history of the medium, for the indie scene, for the love of sequential art, for their LCS. It's for people who want to call themselves comics fans but only want to read five-or-so also-ran books a year.

Being involved with CG actually stopped me loving comics, everything was problematic, everything was drama, everything was political. It was like I'd suddenly found myself under the influence of Anita Sarkeesian.

Getting out has re-kindled my love of comics.

The fact that I allow myself a little time every week to challenge FROG on a medium that he can't block me from (after quote tweeting me to get his beta-bois to fight on his behalf) may be a little indulgent....but hey you have to do something during social isolation.

Just buy old comics and manga if you need your "comic fix" that much. Screw Marvel, DC, and EVS's-CG.

;)

That's because Gail Simone is a boomer and wouldn't know how to sign up for this forum.
Besides, she'd be too much of a coward to sign up and face her detractors anyways.

Marvel wasn’t done.

TikTok?
A moderator for r/mutant?
A cosplayer? Let me guess, it's the "Gambit" of the team.
"mutant music"? The hell is that?!

It's like they picked out the worst parts of zoomers, waded it up, and threw it at the public, saying "How do you, fellow kids?"
This is going to fail and fail hard.
