I am yet to see information about what will happen with international travel. I would not be surprised if infected Asians are still allowed to fly in.

And every day we're in quarantine means more and more of those jobs aren't coming back, and there's no guarantee that your employer will even hire you back. Hell, this could be used as an opportunity to drop those wages because more people will be desperate for a job.

Do you understand how labor works? Once shit is back to normal, demand returns. It may take a couple of years to sort itself out, but unless you keep fucking with the economy like FDR, it eventually takes over again. I think that we should take care of those affected by this until it gets sorted out, but the Democrats are going for stupid shit like college loan forgiveness.

But basically, if they are giving out the money now, on my husband's income (and many, many, many like us) we would get a fraction of the 1200. Then, being that he works in a specialized field, in infrastructure-related tasks (thats all i am going to say) and this drags on for weeks and weeks, what good is that fraction of 1200 going to do us when and if he loses his job?

If there is a massive economic slowdown, nobody is going to be building or planning much of anything. Then another sector of the workforce stands to lose jobs (building, planning, construction, etc.)

Then Uncle Sam says "well we did what we could" .... And that 800 bucks isn't going to do anything to pay the mortgage.

At best it is a lifeline to working class families, that is about a month's salary for semi-skilled or unskilled labor. But do they even qualify?

Then what?

When will the next life preserver be tossed out?
