With Biden being totally MIA right now (because his mental facilities are being hidden from the public more and more as time goes on), they need some presidential candidate to be a talking piece for the party to spread the left's messages. I think this is truly the case, given that Bernie has been so complimentary to Biden when he's appeared in front of the media in recent weeks. He's essentially campaigning for Biden now. His campaign admitted to stopping their ads that "attack" Biden, too.

That's why some politicians - particularly of the more "radical" strain - really don't want power. Then you become the "man," so to speak, and you don't quite have the edge you once had. Being President and having to govern within the realities of, well, reality would inevitably require him to compromise in big ways that he really doesn't want to do. On top of that, being President is incredibly stressful: the office ages you. Having had a heart attack on the campaign trail, what do you think will happen to him if he were ever President? He's not guaranteed to finish his term, and could thus not enjoy a fourth house.
