Two things about this wonderful new Hantavirus outbreak

1) Im somewhat curious to find out whether it was due to rat crap in food stocks or whether people are actually eating rats in chink-central due to the disruption of food supply

2) I cant wait for all the usual suspects who spent the past few weeks screeching about how waysist it is to name diseases after the location of the first notable outbreak to either double down or retcon this spin when discussing Hantavirus which was named after a south korean river

Hantavirus doesn't generally spread human-to-human, it's from eating rat shit. In the states, when we have an outbreak, it's usually traced back to a pantry where dry food stocks were being sampled by local rats. These viruses have some staying power, partially because of where rats shit. You can exterminate an entire colony only for another to come in a couple weeks later, eat the desiccated corpses and become carriers themselves.

The most likely explanation is everyone on that bus ate from the same rice. If we hear it's spreading human to human, whatever this is probably is not a hantavirus. In fact, is it is transmissible, calling it a hantavirus would be a good PR move because those don't spread human-to-human. It might keep frightened people from getting more scared.

Yunnan Province is kind of the sticks. They have a lot of mining, the cities are not too-well developed, and the CCP doesn't play that much of a role in the daily lives of people. Would not surprise me to learn this was misidentified and is actually WuFlu of Bubonic Plague.

Just to be clear - Baizo usually means someone who has been influenced by Western Values, specifically white women.

So, went on errands for my granny today. Wasn't even allowed to enter the doctor's practice to pick up her prescription, only one person at a time was allowed to enter the pharmacy and in her favorite supermarket more and more stuff was running low (not Lidl or Aldi though). Managed to get some TP for her. Nearly no cars in the streets, only people running necessary errands. No one is wearing masks but everyone is keeping proper distance to the other person. Poor kids have to stay home and help at home and in the garden. Saw this everywhere. ^^;
I wanted to take pictures but this Germany and you're not allowed to just photograph/film shit that's not your property so I wasn't sure if I could. Maybe next time.

By the way, at the weekend some asshole and his sister got into an argument with a cashier at Lidl (I think) in my town (it's always Lidl), even hitting her. Sadly, they got away. A few hours later it gets posted on Facebook and my aunt comments on the post only to get yelled at by some dude who then continued to created drama (under his real name) because of the post. Turns out, stupid dude was the guy who got into the fight with the cashier. People guessed right and called the police on him and his sister.
