the scientist said "realistically" 6 months. My boss is pissed (IT) as we can work from home but we are still limited and the security risks for data is massive too.
I am still playing Chaotic in this, is it worth it to save some old biddies but destroy your entire infrastructure (we are government related but not deemed as essential) Tank your economy but also where you stand in the world just after you left the EU too.
This is a reasonable question.
If serious quarantines are not put in place, the elderly will die anyway.
People in this thread are talking about masks, about respirators.
Yes, these things are important.
But, as long as useless cunts like New Zealand's PM Jacinda Ardern are busy fluffing themselves about "self-quarantine" and "distancing" while avoiding the duty that they owe to
actually quarantine people who carry the virus, it will continue to spread.
It only got here because Ardern refused to stop coronavirus carriers coming in.
The saying "shit or get off the pot" comes to mind. Either quarantine carriers, or just admit that you will let the elderly die, perhaps on a slightly slower schedule than doing absolutely nothing at all.
If these governments actually care about preventing our grandparents from dying, coronavirus carriers should not be wandering around freely. Either they should be in specialized holding areas (things have grown beyond this level almost everywhere) or they should have their movements restricted in some other way.
Any government which isn't searching AliExpress for "magnetically activated door alarm cellular" isn't serious about containing the coronavirus. And if they don't care about halting the spread, they should stop pretending to care about those it will kill- because
they do not care and they have already made sure that they will be responsible for those deaths.
It's not a choice between "elderly people die" and "economy dies". It should be entirely possible to preserve both against major damage, if you're not completely worthless like all of our "leaders".
