I don't think it is a bad thing for a couple wanting to have a baby that is biological theirs. But I think there is a limit between going to check a doctor for it and wasting insane amounts of money and health risks when they could adopt a baby. This reminds me of that TLC show where the couple had quintuplets.
Also lol yeah sound people don't want a defective baby and there is a small percentage of people that truly want to care for a tard with no monetary or emotional (asspat, attention) reward, just the good of their heart.

This thread is all about most narcissist, fundies, fuckos parents not wanting to abort their defective babies or extend their life by all means necessary so I understand parents that can't have theirs and decide to adopt not wanting to get a fucked up one lol otherwise I would be a hypocrite.

Do parents that foster or adopt children get any money from it in the US?

Also something that sort of fits here. I believe these parents aren't at fault but are victims to the circumstances. I don't remember if I posted this before or maybe in another thread. Children born from parents that were exposed to Agent Orange during Vietnam War. Most ended up abandoned.

At the end of the day though, you could have a perfect baby and they could still grow up to be an asshole.

One look at the Abbey Brown thread and even adopting a “healthy white infant” from strangers seems fraught with terror.

People who claim they “just want a child to love” are usually not being honest, even with themselves. It is almost never that simple.

It was poorly phrased, but what I was trying to say is that it's absurd to expect a perfectly healthy white newborn when adopting. It's not absurd to want a child without FAS lmao. My point was that if you have fertility issues but really want a kid, be willing to adopt ones that's older, or that's a different race etc.

That said, Abbey Brown is the way she is because she's extremely spoiled, not just because she has FAS. There are plenty of adopted children who grow into normal, functioning adults.

I think it’s a vast oversimplicatoon to tell infertile couples to “just adopt”. It’s not an easy road. Like we’ve addressed, the majority of children up for adoption are going to have massive lifelong issues and/or disabilities. Removing a child from its parents, no matter how abusive or unfit they are, fucks that child up for life. The knowledge that they’re considerably better off with their adopted family is no consolation.

Edit: that’s not to say that happy, adjusted adoptees don’t exist.

Of course, having your own biological child comes with no guarantee that they’ll be completely healthy and neurotypical, but to actively choose to become parents to a damaged, abused child is not for the faint hearted. I’ve read stories from adoptive parents on forums and their lives sound almost intolerable.

If you scroll through the hashtags related to NICU, even moms of non tard babies almost fetishsize the experience and being a "NICU mama bear".

With many even going as far as saying they are better moms than mothers who haven't had children in the NICU and of course they all seem to come out of the experience knowing more than doctors and nurses.

Thank god it's head is covered in bandages and whatever that paw print thing is. Nobody needs to be exposed to that horrifically deformed face. Also am very grateful that the brain is so underdeveloped that the baby has no idea what kind of horrible short life it's living compared to a normal functioning baby.

There’s a lot of entitlement from rich infertile women towards poor women’s babies.

I don’t have an issue with IVF, but eventually you have to stop trying. Anyway it’s way less selfish than people who can easily get pregnant but have bad genes and keep popping out horribly disabled kids.

Lol she never had a normal brain, she has a trisomy. At best she would've been super retarded, which is not "normal". She's a vegetable now, but really, I don't know how much worse off she is from severely, perhaps even profoundly, retarded. And her trisomy already severely shortens her life anyhow so if the brain damage hastens things, it probably doesn't by too much.
