Furry Fandom and Drama General

This is leading to some great satire of furries and the generally deranged.

We're so deep into Poe's Law territory here that it's difficult to tell whether that tweet is satire, and most of the replies are indeed taking it as satire. Some of them are good, though.

mr_cleanliness is prone to violent outbursts upon any perceived misuse of the asexual flag. I fear for anybody who tries to explain to him that flag burning is protected speech.

Patriotism seems to be on the rise everywhere you go, in fact. Kiwipr1nce better watch out, though. A name like that could get him in some serious trouble.

Other flagbearers are coming out of the woodwork, too. What flag even is that? The pedophilia flag?

Our poor Teddiursa's days are numbered, too. Sooner or later, his twitter peers will make the connection: Teddiursa -> Bear -> Russia -> KGB MAGA CHUD TWITTER SPAM BOT.

Fleaaf, however, has it right. He knows who is truly guilty in this sad premeditated murder saga. Fleaaf has followed the evidence back to its source and uncovered the true perpetrators, the secret society always at work behind the scenes to undermine his harmless and beloved fandom via destroying furry conventions, raping dogs, grooming kids, and planting vast quantities of child pornography on the most popular and influential artists' hard drives: The haters. The haters did this murder or are somehow responsible for it. Case closed.

Or maybe he's just got a little bit of Kiwi in him.

Thank you for ruining my day.

Between this and Simba shooting up cops, at what point are people going to wake up and realize the whole furry fandom is deranged? At least they could take a page after the troons and off themselves instead of others.

While I’m pretty sure that most sane, reasonable people are very aware that furries and their fandom are all lunatics and degenerates, and are not at all fooled by the efforts of people like Sam Conway, and Boozy Badger to make them look good, the problem now is that the left-wing media has discovered that furrys are all left wing fanatics, and since they “fit the narrative” to support the media's progressive views, we’re going to continue to seethe media treating them as the good guys.

If the media had not discovered this, I think that with enough stories like this one, the furries would eventually be shunned and and hated enough that their fandom would implode, but with articles like the recent one on Samantha Bee’s show “Full Frontal” the media treats them as progressive darlings who be relied on to scream “orange man bad!” And “Medicare for all!“ on demand.

Until that changes, I think it’s going to be a long while before the media goes back to seeing the forest for the trees, with the furry fandom.

Or in this case, goes back to seeing the porn, the grooming, the child molesters and the zoosadists for the fursuits.

Edit: You would think that the people who treat furries as progressive allies would see what painfully obvious – furries aren’t progressives because they feel compassion or concern for others, it’s because they’re selfish and they want all of the free stuff for themselves and for someone else to pay for their decadent lifestyles.

Until the RMFC saga and the "furries are kicking out the Nazi bigots" articles along with the rise in fluff pieces depicting the fandom as a protected sexual minority, furries were being fucking mocked left and right. As late as 2014, furries were being laughed at on mainstream media as the iconic MSNBC segment showed. They were intending to do a serious segment about 19 people being injured by chlorine gas at a convention, not burst out laughing at the kind of convention it happened at. The second she says furry convention they start finding out what furries are. Around that same time period is when the iconic "on all levels except physical" documentary came out.

Now it's 2020 and furries are literally a protected sexual minority and if you hate furries you're homophobic. If the 2000s was defined by Tyra Banks episodes and Fur and Loathing, late 2010s furry media coverage consists of acting as if furries are just poor trolling victims or loyal Bernie voters. They also love to sweep any controversy under the rug or make sure those normies don't hear about it.

Sidenote: gee, that furry shown in that "nazi furry" article sure looks familiar. I'm sure he's a good, upstanding member of society and a well liked fursuiter and not in any way, shape, or form a pedophile.

It’s looking like LockJawArts was pressured into the act by the boyfriend. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he forced her to. From what we know, he fired the shots and she held the guy down, and he shot/injured her in the process.

Er, I'm pretty sure "hey let's lure a guy here so I can shoot him" should have been a hard no.

Reading Lockjaws twitter is generally depressing no matter how far you go, but recent events do make you question how they ended up in their own sorry situation.

She met the boyfriend at a mental health institution after being sanctioned for a suicide attempt, they got along well and she decided to date him. Family all were not keen on her dating a guy with his own host of issues and made clear they wouldn't support it. She flounces off with boyfriend and they try to make a go of it.

They move in some place, but it's crowded and apparently crawling with scorpions, so they eventually move to "The Nightmare House" - with a landlord who lives in the same living quarters, hocks his drugs to all his residents and frequently slaps various charges on things. Basically two people with massive mental health challenges leave home and end up in a worse situation. I'm almost shocked they didn't kill that guy instead with how much they go on about him. But they also spend a lot of time protesting that they are very normal people caught up in a horrid house full of mental cases and tweakers.

There's also a lot of "I love my dog" and "aww look at my boyfriend being great with my dog : )" posts that are very creepy with hindsight.

They eventually escape and move into the motel, but without the chaos of before to distract - her depression comes back and whatever the guy's dealing with means he's really got 0 capacity to help her, let alone himself. She tells her mother at Xmas that everything's great and the mom calls her out on it, and turns out to be ultimately right in the end. She also insists after time in the loonybin, she doesn't ever want to go back and refuses any help from family. Ended up completely reliant on a partner who had their own stability issues.

Twitter account started asking a furry Youtube series account questions about money issues that have plagued series since begginning

Also maybe if this is happening so many times the issue is you not them

we got another couple from the fandom who murdered and robbed a stranger

Robbing and killing a dude to fund their failing fursuit business, murdering and skinning their beloved doggo, fucking yikes! Nevada has a brand-new and unused execution facility just waiting for these two sick degenerate motherfuckers. IMHO they should both be burned alive in their fursuits.

Oh God. Strangely, a lot of pts use county psych like it's Tinder.

Not a good idea.

The sad thing is that 2 mentally ill people dating each other seems to be a common trope in furry relationships. The end result is a powder keg relationship, one waiting to explode with nasty online drama as both sides end up fucking each other over. Most of the time it ends up with DM leakage, nudes being leaked "revenge porn", and everyone accusing each other of shit and spilling dirt on each other.

Now dating in the psych ward is next level "what the fuck are you thinking" material. There's a famous phrase online called "don't stick your dick in crazy" and that rings true here. The last thing you want in a relationship is to be dating someone unstable and especially if both you and your bf/gf are mentally unstable.

It's a really big problem in psych wards, supported housing, care homes and such. People in those get bored, have trouble making friends outside of their environment because of said mental issues and tend to mingle with other patients despite it being a horrible idea. Then because of their issues it ends up usually being abusive as fuck, yet it seems to be entertainment for them. I've seen it happen and I could never wrap my head around it.

It's really bad with rehabs. It seems like a good idea to the people involved because they have something in common. Unfortunately it's a drug habit. As soon as one of them relapses so does the other.

Here's some lighter news to brighten up the mood in the thread, involving a classic furry viral video and John Oliver.

One older furry meme that manages to resurface every year or so is the famous "Art 199x" video series, in which a furry artist named Brian Swords of York uploaded videos of his artwork being auctioned on a PBS affiliate station. The videos gained popularity both among furries and those who cringe at the fandom because of it's surreal nature, with erotica being auctioned on an art show by a bunch of grandmas trying to describe the artistic talent and nature of the image. Art 1992 had a million views on YouTube as more people kept finding it.

Eventually the video was passed around so many times that the normies at John Oliver decided to watch it and decided to joke about this on his TV show with a full segment dedicated towards this. He declares it as one of the "greatest pieces of television ever broadcast" as he commentates on both the presentation and artistic content of the image.

Newsweek decided to run a news story about the backstory of this video and it features the behind the scenes of the famous clip. It also links an interview with Brian Swords of York himself by Dogpatch. Here's a quote summarizing an interesting tidbit: the content got too spicy for TV and viewers were complaining.
The buyer of "Stay Up Late" has yet to step forward. A spokesperson for WITF confirmed to Newsweek that the station doesn't have records of purchasers from their Gallery 33 art auction series. However, the artist, Brian Swords, is a known quantity in the furry art scene, with substantial listings on WikiFur and other online art venues.

"As the years went by, I started going further with both [the male rat] Bob's junk and the explicitness of the poses," a furry artist working under the name Biohazard—who appears to be Swords—said in a 2015 interview with the furry news site Dogpatch Press. "The paintings always sold well, even though WITF consigned them to late-night showings. Finally, in 1993 I went too far (at least in the opinion of several viewers), and complaints were phoned in. The rest of my works were pulled and returned to me, and I was told that no more genitalia would be permitted and the poses would have to be toned down. This pissed me off royally."

"They kept getting edgier and quite erotic, but for a long time they were making political statements more than anything else, I recall. But then they became more erotic and we began getting phone calls from people," Greenwald told Newsweek.

Concerned for both their FCC license and the family audience drawn to the art auction, WITF and its panel committee of local artists eventually adopted policies against the on-air sale of erotica. It was members from that same panel of artists that provided the on-air "color commentary" for the artwork.

Greenwald confirmed that Swords' work sold well at auction. "There seemed to be, to our surprise, a lot of bidding on them," he said. "I couldn't tell you if there were many, many people bidding on them, or sort of a coterie of people who were bidding on them. I don't know."

John Oliver has also offered to buy this piece of fine art, with $1,000 to the owner and $20,000 towards their nearest food bank.

Most of the comments were cracking jokes or talking about how cool it'd be to own it, but one comment stuck out from a very familiar furry, with a tweet thread that sums up the absolute state of the furry fandom. It's just typical furry leftism, with "this artist did X so many years ago he should be canceled" mixed with "donate the money to struggling furry artists instead".

Well that's what the internet does to you when you upload your dirty laundry for all to see.

Hey now, the second tweet archive isn't shit without the response that cwoodsdean gave when DM'd about cheating his customers.

It's always a great sign when a suspected scammer starts out with "First, you'll find I am under no obligation to refund you anything :smug:"

"Eat the rich" is a fun attitude to endorse and cultivate right up until people start noticing that you're rich, too, and the guillotine's been standing empty for a frustratingly long time.

Describes every combination of online couples I've seen. They sit around bubbling in whatever sphere they prefer; a video game server, a forum, a group chat, any way they can label themselves by anything as small as "I chose to be a fox instead of a wolf so now I'm here". Lust is the strongest desire and even while starving on an island with your partner you'd have the energy to go at it. So you bunch up all these lackluster individuals and eventually gone turns female (most cases tranny) to fit the remaining suitors. I saw this absolutely rampant when I was younger, except back then it was 'femboys' as opposed to the totally legitimate women with dicks of today.
