For fucking ever, being as, despite the shrieking of Labour based exceptional individuals and their footsoldiers in doctors uniforms endlessly parroting the lie, the NHS budget has never been cut. Not once. In fact just last year it received another £394m a week.

The NHS's problem is it's fucking bloated all to hell and back by the usual middle management bullshit. Managers oft breed assistant managers inside government projects. Couple that with a now ridiculous piecemeal procurement process and you wind up with a cobbled together scheme to try and match a sudden spark in demand like we're seeing now.

I don’t think people noticed this much, but the last of the Lansley reforms - local CCG commissioning groups - died in fire last week as central govt took back the power to direct all NHS procurement and treatment procurement. Which is obviously completely necessary but I do wonder if it will ever be given back. Time will tell.

I also, despite not being a supporter of the present government, absolutely disagree that this is a time for “scrutiny“ or “accountability“ or suchlike over the economic policies of the last ten years. This is a time to STFU and all pull together because by god, we really are all in the shit together for once. This is a major public health emergency with massive social and economic consequences. It’s not time to be flinging mud at the people who happened to be holding the grenade when it exploded. Yes, in time, in a year or two when this has mostly settled down and we have a vaccine to control it, there’s time then to reflect on policies around the NHS.

But that time is not now and I have no fucking time for anyone trying to score points at this time over the policies of the last decade. What’s done is done. We are where we are, the shit has hit the fan and we have bigger and more immediate problems right now. Let’s unequivocally support measures to support the NHS and its clinicians at this time. The NHS clinical services are working their arses off right now and the most important thing any individual or any political party can do is listen to what they say they need and make sure they get it.

This is not a time for carping from the sidelines and fuck anyone who does.

Here in germany some people are starting to lose patience with the restrictions. They're of the opinion that they've been home for an entire week or two and followed the rules closely and that should be enough. Why they think it should, I don't know but It's pretty clear to me that most people just simply don't understand the gravity of the situation and still think they'll see their favorite soccer teams play in packed stadiums in may. I think a big factor is that germany doesn't have waves of corpses like some other european countries. Our death rate/day rose slowly from about 50 to 66, which mostly had to do with the wuflu getting loose in two retirement/care homes. This isn't even really statistically relevant for a country that size and bad flu seasons have done worse which quite frankly, is weird. Basically all hospitals still have intensive care capacity to spare and some hospitals have actually been sending personal home to stand down until it hits the fan. The german army also has been air lifting sick people from other european countries to our hospitals.

I learned today that the main hospital in my city has been using chloroquine off-label for treatment since basically the beginning of it all. They do not want to make a public statement about it's efficiency though. It makes me slightly hopeful.

In other good and late news, Lindemann of Rammstein fame is out of the ICU, never had the wuflu and is doing better.

It is not going to depopulate half the planet without the quarantine. So apparently all those years I have just consumed instead of informing myself? Are you fucking retarded? All those words you use like "ebola" and "swine flu" and "spanish flu" and "smallpox" and "bubonic plague" and "HIV" do you have any idea how many of those have killed? Do you know how much more contagious swine flu was?

Before you say something absolutely non cognitively functioning like "well one by one each of those did not spread as fast as this" first of all that is wrong. Secondly, one disease does not go away while a brand new one emerges. There have been times in RECENT HISTORY within the last 20 years where 3 or 4 pandemics combined ravaged populations and no one freaked out about this the way people are freaking out about this. Maybe they should have. But they did not. This is lunacy. This is a power move to gain a political advantage and its working on people who "consume and never take in."

Give me a break. You would not give a fuck about this or blink an eye if it was not on CNN all day. What have you learned in "your years" anyway claiming you have many to begin with? Where you old or competent during the last bail out in 2008-2009 when Obama dumped close to a trillion dollars on "the private sector?" Where did the money go? Did each American receive a $1200 check in the mail? Did it fund small businesses and help the health care industry? First he threw the bail out. Then he threw Obama care. How did that go? How is that going?

What are those testing kits anyway? They are cotton swabs that you dip in a testing solution. Not as accurate as the blood tests. Not as laboratory enduring time taking as really in depth tests on samples. Sure, they don't have time for that. They need to see who is sick and fast. But this test is the same way they test the regular flu. A swab for a virus that has 80% the same exact genetic make up as the regular flu. Do you think in 2 and a half weeks that 2 and a half weeks ago 5 people in the US had coronavirus and now its 300,000? "They weren't testing for it back then. They did not have the kits" is what the media saying? No, they did not have the experimental vaccine. They have had the testing kits for at least 6 weeks now. They offered a free test for me when I got off the plane in Los Angeles 6 weeks ago just because I had been in an airport.

Ironically yes this lockdown is stopping deaths all over the world, regular things people are admitted to the emergency room or ICU for like car accidents and the regular flu are down like 95%. Its a friggin miracle. Corona virus continues but the true numbers? 300,000? I doubt it. Flu victims maybe. We know the areas hit hardest by coronavirus: China, Italy, Iran, New York State. But what Trump is saying? 2.2 million dead by the end of the month? Not even close. Its the end of the month Wednesday. Or do politicians never spit out bullshit before half checking what they are saying before people needlessly "consume" the information real fast.

So since I consume without producing thought non stop let me ask, do you go on like this every year about how "this disease needs to be stopped, lockdown the world" when the usual hardcore diseased pandemics wipe out thousands and thousands in Africa?
