She talks about how her parents feel in
this video around 24:00 and it seems they had nothing to do with the trauma and weren't aware of the trauma. Chloe doesn't remember her trauma either and just assumes that she has it. But ultimately it seems like her parents are very confused as to what happened to give her trauma.
She doesn't claim to have been diagnosed in hospital As Chloe tells it she;
-Attempted suicide age 18
-Spoke with the crisis team in hospital
-Was told by a member of the crisis team that having an inner monologue wasn't normal
-Was referred to therapy in Colchester where her therapist suggested she had DID but didn't diagnose her*
-Went to university and had so many amnesiac spells she was expelled
-Sought out therapy and got diagnosed at this treatment centre **
*She also says that this therapist in Colchester had no idea what DID was and was introduced to the concept by Chloe herself so this is one of those occasions where her story doesn't add up.
**She specifically chose to go to university in the same town as one of two DID treatment centres in the UK so make of that what you will. This same treatment centre offers free diagnostic tests for people to take at home. Tests that should be administered only by a trained professional. Of those who take these tests the majority are invited to come for a consultation (paid) and 90% come away with a diagnosis which is a ridiculously high number. Read through the earlier pages in this thread for more information on that.
