I think the question asked by one of the reporters where they were like "Mr. President, what amounts of deaths do you think is acceptable?", it was a clear sign to me that those reporters are basically sitting and waiting for Tramp to screw up. Most of them aren't asking questions so that they can deliver information to people, they just want to find some way for it all to be bad on the part of Tramp because ORANGE MAN BAD.

You know, the more I see sketch politicians protest hydroxychloroquine's increasingly apparent effectiveness against Wu Flu, the more I'm convinced it works and the reason why Trump is leaning in on it so heavily and low-key loosening the requirements to be prescribed it (thanks to things like Right To Try.) They do NOT want to see him be credited for the potential medical discovery equivalent of penicillin.

The way the Media and Never Trumpers are hitting so hard against the Hydroxo + Zpack means it's working and they don't want Trump to be right. Even when he really was offering it more as hope than anything. Actual hope, not those shitty posters of Obamer on them.

When I read the sperging this morning before work, I immediately felt like the Covid was no longer not worth worrying about.

Not because I love Trump and think he's a genius that's going to save us.

Because the people against Trump ALWAYS pick an active volcano as their hill to die on. If they're deciding this is the avenue to put all of their efforts in taking Trump down, that means this is going to be the best and undeniably effective treatment.

Because that's how stupid our reality has become.

It's also important to remember that hydroxychloroquine has been opened up to general production for a long time now, as the medication is outside of its patent. Anyone can make it, it's extremely cheap and easy to produce (hence why pieces of it show up in fucking fish tank cleaner), and an entire, 10-day round of treatments for it costs about $100, without insurance.

A brand new vaccine owned by a single company that just got a shiny, new patent in the middle of a world-panicking pandemic? There's a much bigger price tag on that.
