The moment when the President of the United States calls you a "third rate reporter" live on national television.

View attachment 1218060

Thank you very much, Jon.

This was a great moment, but for me the ace part of the briefing yesterday was when he called out the CCP shill.

"Is that a question? That sounds like a statement."

I'm kind of lost without the profile pictures, are you the pathologist? The dude who works in the morgue and stuff?

yes, that's me. Quincy/return of the living dead guy

I mean, generally agree, but you're being a bit narrow minded.

Yes, many of those who caught the virus in China and then were allowed to return to America despite the 'travel ban' were probably founding stock Americans. But many would have been 'Chinese-Americans'.

All it needed was one. And the insanity of allowing ANYONE to come through without being put into medical quarantine immediately... yes, it was dumb-ass petty hate for ChIIIna and not a complete block of the disease.

It could so easily have been done as Obama did with Ebola- you went to that region, you go directly to hospital, and you stay until you're cleared. Color blind and nationality ignored; being in the region is enough.

We are talking about a man who has a lifelong grudge against windmills because he can see them when he goes golfing in Scotland.

The Dem idiots were right in one way; it was absolutely nonsense for a "travel ban". they were wrong in another way; it should have been mandatory quarantine for anyone who recently visited an affected region, and possibly anyone entering the country at all, after a certain point.

It didn't go far enough.

China was covering up, we knew that much. That Navarro memo tells me the whole story, just by existing. We fucked up. Trump fucked up. Whether intentionally (left wing tinfoil hat shit) or through sheer bull headed pettiness and profit motive... he fucked up.

One white lady with a tickle in her throat is an index case to a hundred thousand.

on a whimsical note, how's Rand Paul these days? It's about time he would either be recovering, or on a ventilator. He was sick 10 days ago.

At work we have leveled off, another batch of tests are out in the community which is good, though again, they're only testing people w/ symptoms. we need to ramp that shit up.

as I've said since the start: stay home. wear a mask.

It's been stated before but Xi must be losing his fucking mind right now - nearly 100k dead across the globe, economies in ruins and soon us Brits might lose our priminister to this horrible blight his citizens concocted.
Do ye even think Winnie the flu has a conscious, he no be giving a fuck wee bastard

The guy should just go live in a hole. Or kill himself.

Since we all know Japan is going to nuke Bejin and Wuhan, conquer China, fragment it, and create the new Asian Coalition in alliance with South Korea and Taiwan. What changes do you think will be made to the Bible when it is rewriten as a manga?
it'll be world war.

UK and Japan united against China.

Tea ceremony with biscuits.

Man, I didn't expect a nuclear white-hot take like this so early in the day :story:

If that's bait, it's hall of fame tier.

'Struth.

Any person coming from that region, anyone, is our index case. A white American or twelve waltzed right through.

You gonna close a border, don't be a pussy. Close the fucking thing all the way shut.

What makes the "Keep God's House Open At all Costs" megachurch pastors so stupid is the fact that they're shooting themselves in the foot. Since oldies are most likely to go to church, they're also most likely to die in droves when the Coof comes to town. I seem to recall someone here mentioning the fact that the Catholic Church lost a lot of influence in Europe after the Spanish Influenza Epidemic because said church was encouraging people to come in and pray the gay coof away. Good way to thin out your own parishoners. If a bunch of moneygrubbing Churchiterias want to Darwin Award themselves out of existence, far be it from me to prevent them...

ALL pandemics have historically reduced religiosity drastically. The black death was a necessary step to the Renaissance. That's just how it works. Really at this point it doesn't matter what they do, but their certainly making it even worse.

What has happened to this thread...

JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA! You've not seen our final form yet.

If UK and Japan unite, once they're done with China they are invading the USA too. No, not because of the war of independence or the nukes. Because they threw the tea in the harbor. I mean. Who does that? Those were some perfectly good leafs ready to be turned into delicious beverage. Inexcusable! But don't worry burgerlanders, us spaniards will stand with you. We know coffee is the superior beverage anyway.

We are not Italy.

Here is a hint ... take a flight from DFW, to Rome. Take several "before" pictures in Dallas, where you grab something to eat, before heading to the airport.

When you get off the plane, take some "after" pictures, where you grab something to eat.

The contrast will be striking. The American picture will be obese, the Italian one, will not.

People in the middle of the life-cycle here are far more vulnerable than their Italian (or Chinese) cohorts. High blood pressure, diabetes and prodromal heart-disease (conditions that a lot of younger people are unaware that they even have) put you at elevated risk of dying of COVID.

In a lot of parts of the world, folks probably would eat more if more food were available to them. But worldwide most people consume a fraction of the calories that North Americans consume, because they don't have access to the variety of food that we do, either because they can't afford it, or it isn't raised or grown fast enough. Or there are logistical issues in transportation, or governments that withhold it from certain populations.

Italians aren't calorie deprived. They eat very well. But it is the "Mediterranean Diet" which many of us couldn't afford here in the States, even if we wanted it. And they eat a wide variety, in smaller portions.

So basically all I am saying is that we shouldn't be lulled into a false sense of security based on statistics coming out of systems with which we have little in common.

I am not opposed to opening things up again. However we need to get a better picture of the vulnerability of our local populations, and plan for it.
I gotta ask, have you been to Italy? If so, just the warmer southern portion? Because northern Italy is an entirely different beast than the south.

My wife lived most of her life in northern Italy. Upon coming here, she gets amused that us Americans almost universally think Sicily = Italy. They really, REALLY like their pork up there.

You gonna close a border, don't be a pussy. Close the fucking thing all the way shut.

There is the small problem of the high rate of asymptomatic carriers.

So the border that had to be closed all the way shut in January wasn't China's, it was the US's. Close the border completely with all other nations, because nations were perfectly capable of pushing out asymptomatic carriers before they detect their first case.

If there is a list of nations that give their leadership sufficient political power to survive doing a complete border closure in the situation everything was in all the way back in January, that list is probably composed of just North Korea. Maybe add the Republic of Sealand to it. A quick google didn't turn up any results for Sealand with regards to this plague, so that is some good news I suppose.

More practically, the border closure, even if not 100% effective, did manage to delay the significant upswing in the US by a couple of weeks, which in turned allowed a sizable amount of data to be gathered from the EU's cases. A 90% effective border closure at least forces the disease to go through one round multiplying 10-fold before getting to where it would have been without it.

Too true.

I know a few Sicilians that would smack a person in the mouth for insinuating that Sicily was even a part of Italy. Those guys are funny. Like a clown.

There's also the little problem that a lot of the ones that were let through were Chinese-Americans (and other minorities). Because, you know, they're american. Which is now a synonym for white, apparently.

Dude, it's just a flu, bro. Chillax

It's not just a flu.

This virus attacks the human brain, along with most of the vital organs.

If you don't believe me, then ask PhD neuroscience expert Dr. Kevin McCairn, who I have corresponded with over Discord, and who thinks that everything I've written about the virus was valuable enough for him and his associates keep a copy of.

Neurotropic virus. It makes people go down and do the Worm:

Neurotropic, brain-stem-eating virus.

It doesn't just do this to people collapsing in the street, either. Many of the people in the ICU who needed to be intubated have depressed breathing due to brain stem damage:

There appears to be a neurological component of covid 19 which may explain the mechanism behind the respiratory distress for some patients. We still don’t know why some patients stop breathing but brain stem involvement may be why. Please check out this new research which does a better job of explaining it than I can. It also gives support to the hypothesis that CPAP machines could be useful in this crisis.

Sorry here’s the research article I referred to:

The neuroinvasive potential of SARS‐CoV2 may be at least partially responsible for the respiratory failure of COVID‐19 patients

Following the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS‐CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS‐CoV), another highly pathogenic coronavirus named SARS‐CoV‐2 (previously known as 2019‐nCoV) emerged in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and rapidly spreads around the world. This virus shares highly homological sequence with SARS‐CoV, and causes acute, highly lethal pneumonia (COVID‐19) with clinical symptoms similar to those reported for SARS‐CoV and MERS‐CoV. The most characteristic symptom of COVID‐19 patients is respiratory distress, and most of the patients admitted to the intensive care could not breathe spontaneously. Additionally, some COVID‐19 patients also showed neurologic signs such as headache, nausea and vomiting. Increasing evidence shows that coronavriruses are not always confined to the respiratory tract and that they may also invade the central nervous system inducing neurological diseases. The infection of SARS‐CoV has been reported in the brains from both patients and experimental animals, where the brainstem was heavily infected. Furthermore, some coronaviruses have been demonstrated able to spread via a synapse‐connected route to the medullary cardiorespiratory center from the mechano‐ and chemoreceptors in the lung and lower respiratory airways. In light of the high similarity between SARS‐CoV and SARS‐CoV2, it is quite likely that the potential invasion of SARS‐CoV2 is partially responsible for the acute respiratory failure of COVID‐19 patients. Awareness of this will have important guiding significance for the prevention and treatment of the SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced respiratory failure.

“This is the first reported case of COVID-19-associated necrotizing hemorrhagic encephalopathy,” wrote study team leader Neo Poyiadji, M.D., a radiologist with Henry Ford. “As the number of patients with COVID-19 increases worldwide, clinicians and radiologists should be watching for this presentation among patients presenting with COVID-19 and altered mental status.”

Neurotropic brain-eating virus.

No amount of ridicule or denial is going to change the fact that COVID-19 eats people's brains for lunch and craps out an retarded vegetable on the other end.
