Take any substantially large group of people, and the odds you can find at least 1 person fitting a description (no matter how outlandish) approach 1. Now give all those people social media accounts that are search-engine ready and you have ready made proofs for anybody making any point.

Hell you could probably prove Star Wars fans are a bunch of furries that were mostly upset that Rey wasn't a catgirl if you had a lazy afternoon.

Eh, exept I didn't specifically pick them out. It was simply another community's SW topic, and it was just all of that same stuff and opinions. Seemed the majority.

So in some positive news: the new 4k releases of the original trilogy are pretty damn nice looking.

The purple tint push in ANH and ROTJ are gone and all 3 films are now much more accurate in terms of theatrical color timing. Vader's saber is now always red in the cloud city duel instead of randomly turning orange in a few shots. Also, that portion in the middle of ROTJ where it was upscaled standard definition is now fixed and properly HD. Though it isn't all perfect, DNR is still there in all 3 films and kills the grain somewhat, but it's no where near UHD T2 bad.

They are still the special editions, but the new 4k restoration is WAY better than the old Lowry masters that were shat out in 2004.

Would actually recommend.

That's the thing though; it wasn't any type of 'themed' forum. It was just a typical forum where typical people come to talk movies, a lot like this topic here, so of course that would make anyone think that it was most of the fans who thought this way.

Oh, that reminds me of how stupid the ending for that arc was. I remember that big, starship destroying exploson Artoo was caught up in, and I remember thinking "How'd he get out of that one unscathed?" And then it turns out he did't, he was right in the epicenter of the blast, but he was miraculously mostly intact, so they could just put him back together with next to no effort.

This big fucking explosion that totally destroyed a carrier, and Artoo just has his dome and one leg off. What a fucking cheat.

Dave Filoni's shows are filled to the brim with Asspulls like that, I even joked that the encryption module to help them out was all in an Alien language the Republic couldn't understand so the mission was overall pointless.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, I've seen far too much of the opposite everywhere else. The examples in the video of what everyone wanted were what I had all seen before.

Maybe it's different on KF, as is the case with most things, but not in most places, I found.

I have seen tons of ideas for the sequel trilogy that were completely different from the OT and PT. Tons of them didn't even ape the EU. That dude had an idea going into making the video, that being that Star Wars fans can't handle change (a tried and true argument everyone makes that's not dissimilar from Star Wars fans ostensibly wanting nothing new) and found the evidence to prove it. If he wanted to find absurdly unique ideas for the sequel trilogy, he would have found them. For fucks sake, everyone was lamenting that TLJ chickened out of Rey joining Kylo, which would have been something new.

Ironic that the guy who built his channel around ripping apart the Special Editions and the Prequels is now lecturing people to "be more positive".

I would say they outright beat it during any shot that doesn't have optical printing on it. Back in prep for the special editions, Lucasfilm washed all 3 original negatives in a 104 degree sulfur mixture bath and cleaned them by hand. All the years of grit and grime were removed.

Hammy is likely over the moon with this new 4k release. Decent chunks of the despecialized editions are sourced from the old 2011 blurays. The new UHD are a whole new higher quality source to work from. I'm betting we'll see new versions of all 3 despecialized movies in time.

If this were any other individual saying it, it would make perfect sense, especially in regards to how fucked it all is.
