Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I dunno. From Vic's statements, he wasn't blowing FSE off at all. They haven't spoken in 7 years until he just recently learned what they were doing and told them to quit. 7 years ago, evidently, Vic really was interested in the project. Enough that he was willing to voice a character line for a trailer, even. But then nothing came of it and he probably forgot, because that'd be around the time Vic got the part of Rin Matsuoka - which, conveniently? is the last time this kickvic kind of nonsense got stirred up.

I am sure he was being nice, as he probably knew there was no way that it would get off the ground. I think he said “call me when you get something together and we can chat”.

No commitment to it, but sounds like a good guy.

Casual Otaku BETRAYS Vic Mignogna, BANS him from all future projects, DRAGS him on twitter!!! (watch to the end for giveaway)

But seriously, the casual otaku (was on a panel with Nick at conmmunity fest, is working on his own webseries) decided it'd be for the best if Vic wasn't part of his project anymore. He based his decision on the fantasysoft situation. He cites Vic probably not going to be okay with the adult themes of his show, Vic being expensive and the fact that Vic being involved may have a negative effect on the careers of the other people involved as his reasons for parting ways with Vic.

Here's the thread, read for yourselves.

I haven't seen that much bullshit since Ron Toye learned what a Twatter is. First off, Vic was part of the Ghost Stories dub which all he did was say not to include his name. If he didn't want to do the role, it should be his choice, not yours. Riding off of someone else's fame also is a good idea. Some series wouldn't even survive if it didn't have a big name attached to it. It is all part of the advertisement phase where you get your name out there working on your own brand. I could go on a full fucking rant but not much point since well everybody should know the obvious.

Now let's get to the honestly makes sense part: costs. Even now, Vic is a high profile VA and that certainly costs more than say a group of friends having fun. It certainly raises eyebrows this was done immediately after FSE was revealed to be fake.

Sigh you want to know what would be a good statement about casting: no statement. Why does the world need to know about something when it isnt there business? You dont want a certain VA now. Okay. Vic doesnt get every role he wanted. Here's an easy one if you have to make a statement:

"After careful consideration, I have decided to put the idea of casting Vic for a role in my web series. I am currently reassessing my priorities to make sure I deliver quality content over trying to accomplish every little thing I would want from it."

Like seriously, how hard is it to make a Tweet like that?

Alright mofos, sorry for hybrinating for so long, had to step away because things got super busy, corona-chan hasn't slowed down my business at least but I know I missed on a lot. Last time I checked in was like March 29th, so....how much tism has happened while I was away, the clipnotes version?

only major thing you missed was that Fantasy Soft Entertainment were revealed to be lying sacks of shit, used the Vic situation to grift money using his name while Vic wasn't even involved

Yeah I just barely heard about that. They talk good shit and then Vic exposes them. God that was hilarious. I do feel bad for Vic though and his saner fans. Yeah I like to make fun of people who are naive from time to time but to prey on a man's misfortune and those who just want to help him is really shitty. But these dumbasses riled up the Vic fandom. You will never recover from spurning the autism.

This happens to me often. What I mean is that I'm not sure what you're referring to!

The fact you are being honest and blunt toward these backstabbing cunts, as well as presenting proof when calling them out to the point that their credibility takes a nose dive when you say your piece.

Oooooohhh I get you. Appreciate it. 👍
It's a shame though. I really enjoyed working with a lot of these people but it's no surprise to me really. I don't regret anything & that includes not trying to rack up a following. I like my privacy.

First of all, I just want to say "Welcome back" and that we all miss you. And second, here are some of the events that happened in your absence.

  1. Daman Mills and Monica Rial are reportedly ill.
  2. Jamie Marchi decided to open an autograph shop during the coronavirus outbreak when everyone is ordered by the government to stay inside.
  3. Funimation sent their voice actors home due to the virus.
  4. BT continues to play the "Goofy Dog" routine, which is trying to show how smart he is by actually being stupid.
  5. Neil Kaplan whined about Vic potentially giving his fans coronavirus by hugging them (without mentioning his name). And of course, Jamie Marchi liked the tweet.
  6. Ty's law firm went through tumultuous changes this past couple of weeks with his working staff due to the virus.
  7. Fantasy Soft Entertainment was revealed to be a sham thanks to the fine efforts of the badass truthteller himself @spirit of e m o s h.
  8. Shane continues to be irrelevant.
  9. Ron took part of a real estate video that got a whomping 200+ dislike to 2-5- like ratio.
  10. Ron then blamed Nick for that.
  11. T. Greg Doucette closed his practice while making fun of Ty's law firm for their alleged problems.
  12. Sam Johnson's reply brief could inadvertently bring Jamie Marchi back after working so hard to get her off the hook.
  13. Monica and Ron's reply brief read like a glorified 80-page smear essay on Vic.
  14. Ron perfected the art of autistic comedy in the 9th and 10th episodes of the Ronversations.
  15. Amanda Winn Lee made a joke on Twitter about her son masturbating online, because that's a perfectly normal thing for a mother to do.
  16. We find out through the terms "Ronversations" and "Lemoine" had existed years ago on urban dictionary and their true meanings are hilariously accurate.
