But seriously, the casual otaku (was on a panel with Nick at conmmunity fest, is working on his own webseries) decided it'd be for the best if Vic wasn't part of his project anymore. He based his decision on the fantasysoft situation. He cites Vic probably not going to be okay with the adult themes of his show, Vic being expensive and the fact that Vic being involved may have a negative effect on the careers of the other people involved as his reasons for parting ways with Vic.

You know, I've got half a mind to say what happened is that Casual Otaku got positive email responses from Vic about his project and then started using those to promote his work, by associating it with Vic. Then when Vic had to make a statement politely but firmly telling people to stop, he expected he'd get called out next for it if he continued. Instead of being a normal person and just saying "In light of the situation with FSE and Vic's statement, I have to rescind my earlier press about Vic until such a time that the project officially has him on board, I apologize if I've misled anyone about his involvement, but it wasn't done maliciously (here we mention that he has proof he did it in good faith via emails)." he decided to pretend he'd definitely signed Vic on but then changed his mind because of an unrelated scandal.

Also he realized he was too poor to afford Vic.

It's a dick move from Casual Otaku. He clearly thought it would hurt him if he just admitted "Yo, Vic Mignogna is expensive and I can't afford that right now", so instead he tried to throw up professional babble as smoke. Somewhat hilarious, it backfired spectacularly. Imagine for a moment he made a statement like the one I suggested: "Upon reflection, we've realized that a veteran voice actor of Vic's caliber and fame is beyond the budget of this production. We'd love to have him on a future production when we get a bit bigger, but it would be lying to everyone if we continued to represent we were hiring him on this one."

I'm not going to say no one would mock him for being poor or aiming too high, because people would, but...I think it's a no-brainer what ISWV does in response to "We don't have the money to afford to pay Vic, sorry about that!"

Instead of rapidly getting Vic's entirely salary and more donated to him by overenthusiastic fans, though, he's potentially damaged Vic's reputation even more from a purely business standpoint and he's turned ISWV against him. Also, I don't buy for a second that he was definitely going to make an adult project Vic wouldn't approve of. Vic's sensibilities aren't a secret, and if they really were discussing it with Vic interested enough that he felt comfortable publicly representing Vic was interested in it, it wasn't too adult for him. (also Vic voiced a gay sex book so)

I now interrupt this hilariously awesome turnout of a program to bring you another addition of "Hilarious in Hindsight: Anime Edition". For starters, I wanted to originally bring this up because I've recently come across this on my anime adventures. I think I found what Vic's gay pants would look like personified, helps Vic actually voiced him in the dub of Mezzo DSA, a direct TV sequel to the adult OVA Mezzo Forte, which is like a spiritual successor of Kite:

Looking like the lovechild of Maxie of Team Magma and Archie of Team Aqua, Mugiyama Sayoki runs a barber shop under the DSA headquarters but it's a front for his own illegal activities as he runs a black market organization known as "Black Scissors". I'm not finished with the series yet, he might do things by the end of the anime that'll show him getting dangerous, least I'm hoping so. No reason for this character to exist and not do something in a crazy action series like Mezzo.

This doesn't end here because Monica Rial plays a character here, too, named Sakura Sakurada, who is an old friend of the main protagonist, Mikura, but they hadn't seen each other for three years.

She's first introduced calling Mikura's collegue a pervert for accidentally groping her boob in the subway. The following episode is when we're more properly introduced to her and learn that she's trying to kill her best friend as revenge for killing her lesbian lover, Momokichi Momomi from the OVA, a psychotic trained assassin who was ordered to kill Mikura. Sakura's lover rescued her from a gangbang and taught her how to fight, although we never really see this because she fell on her knife when Mikura defended herself. It's implied she actually was in love with her best friend because she revealed (actual spoiler) Momomi and Mikura are sisters, and they have identical eyes according to Sakura, which was true in the OVA, but Mikura I guess got contacts before the start of the TV series.

Oh yeah, I should post a visual of what Momomi looks like. No reason, really.

Anyhoo, Mezzo Forte was a fun OVA, the TV series has some action as well, but it's not as violently crazy. Still bonkers at times, though. Just so happens to be another hilarious-in-hindsight moment between the cast of Weeb Wars.

Ultimately it got no where other than dodging. Aura has agreed to hop in a vc but it's on time constraints. Also notice DMs with Tug again in November. (quite sometime after his first apology to me)
Also for the record I know Crowe tried posting an interview my girl did for FS a long time ago. I think the important thing to note here is that was early last year where as Sushi had FS sponsor her event Jan-Feb of THIS year. Big difference.
No professional con booking would ever sponsor a nobody company that hasn't produced a single thing in the year that you've known them. What that means is that the show has light weight / backing & there's no reason for you to flex about it on social media for random likes & retweets.
Also Both me & my girl have been interviewed by Crowe & co. I believe one of the topics they mention to her is her reaching out to FS. So yeah nice failed attempt at a low blow.

On a more serious note I'm not going to sit here & flex or talk about what I've done for Vic or someone else. But what I do want to really emphasize on is the idea that a group of nobodies who aren't interesting enough for people to listen to would suggest that because FSE got exposed - that WE are now attacking conventions wanting to book Vic?
