I get the feeling from watching the first videos in this series he made about this whole thing that he wasn’t really familiar with Nan and only had seen maybe a couple of short moments of her talking on film. Nan is obviously rather masculine/androgynous anyway and he might have only seen her acting as a one of her male alters and assumed she was male.

That’s also sort of my guess because the first couple of videos I saw her in I legitimately couldn’t tell either. And I pride myself on being pretty good at “clocking” people. It took a minute. So he probably just formed that impression and his brain got stuck on that. So even though he knows now, it’s hard to shake it and he confuses himself when talking about her. That and I think he’s fairly supportive of the trans community so is also tripping himself up trying to use the “properly accepted” pronoun.

I bet she thought about this wording. It very very strongly implies that she attempted, and her fans are all really concerned right now. But if any evidence comes to light that she didn't actually attempt (aside from being able to post this message less than 24h later) then her fans can still defend her because she didn't actually say she attempted, she just came close to it. It gives her enough room to backtrack while also being very concerning at surface level for people who'll defend her.

The way Cloe portraits DID is like a dream come true to them. You can have a fantasy world, mythical characters with interesting backstories, people of all ethnicities, genders, sexualities and with all sorts of mental disorders living inside your head. You only have memory loss when it's convenient and you get away with everything because you're oh so traumatized (although you don't remember it) and every time things get unpleasant you "attempt suicide" and everything is fine again. Nobody is allowed to question anything you say because you are too fragile to take any kind of criticism. However DID or Dissociative Identity Disorder or Multiple Personality Disorder as it was known ,is an actual medical diagnosis that does exist and is formed when a child goes through such trauma the brain can’t cope ,it splits into alters as a form of protecting themselves . It is rare and it does affect females more than males.So DID or MPD as it was former known does exist, so please do not say ,it doesn’t exist because there are people who are genuinely struggling with this illness .
